Located in northwest Arizona and arguably the world's most popular (and splendid) natural tourist attraction, the massive Canyon is 277 miles long, 18 miles wide, and at its deepest point, is more than a mile from rim to river. Most of the Canyon lies within Grand Canyon National Park and is managed by the National Park Service. It incorporates three geographically separated areas: the South Rim, the North Rim and the inner canyon.

No matter what you've read or watched, you cannot imagine the splendor of The Grand Canyon unless you've experienced it first hand. Seven miles wide and one mile deep are merely rough measurements of the magnitude of beauty you will behold. The park is immense and can be hiked, driven and even explored by mule. There are helicopter, plane and... More

No photo can convey the grandeur of this place! An organized shuttle service gets you around the park to all the best views. Trails are well marked and there are water bottle refill stations scattered throughout. One day will get the tour accomplished quite satisfactorily.

We stayed three nights at the El Tovar Hotel at the South Rim and could not get enough of the views, weather, viewpoints, walking and sightseeing. I would not recommend this trip for children. All the children we saw were complaining they were bored and did not appreciate the beauty. There are not swimming pools at the south rim hotels... More

No photo or video can adequately prepare you for the awe and grandeur of seeing the Grand Canyon up close with your own eyes. As you walk toward the rim for your first glance, the excitement gives way to amazement and maybe even a little emotion. The visitor center is a good place to start, as the maps and displays... Must be world's #1 landscape. And we were even luckier to experience it over a few days with all kinds of weather to decorate it: thunderstorms, clear sunsets, mists below etc. Awesome!

Word of advice, BYPASS the first lot (and the commercialism and crowds) and go to the west passing that lot and park at the Geological Museum. Busses for FREE transport up and down the south rim can be caught there...MUCH less crowded and the views are MAGNIFICENT!

We came in on the train that we boarded in Williams. Great for kids on the ride because of the train robbers. You get an excellent view of the canyon on the south end. This is the one to see !
