September is a great time to visit Denali. Our guide was great, the bus comfortable, and everyone had fun.

Don’t adhere to their COVID safety promises
Sep 2021
…nor the rules of the national park they tour. No social distancing, no masks on a crowded boxy bus with poor ventilation. Saw bears but so what. Could’ve done that without rolling the bones on our health to the tune of hundreds of dollars.

NOT disappointed
Sep 2021
Even though the tour could not go the entire 92 miles due to a landslide, the tour was excellent. Great narration, adequate stops and snacks. Nice, warm bus.

Beautiful scenery
Jul 2021
It is quite a LONG day. The scenery, of course, was amazing. You really can't get close to the wildlife so don't count on that. The meal at the end of the road was much better than expected. I'm glad we did it, but in a nutshell it is a long day on a cramped bus.

Amazing Birthday Experience with Denali Backcountry Adventure and the Tour Guide, Patty
Sep 2021
I recently finished a trip on my birthday. I cannot express what a wonderful experience this was, and the great lengths our tour guide Patty went to in making this a remarkable adventure. Not only did she safely guide us through this beautiful Park, but she always was keen to point out numerous animals including caribou, bears, and dall sheep. Additionally, she delivered a stunning view of the mountain amongst the beautiful fall colors of tundra. Completely lifechanging and just a wonderful way to spend a birthday. Patty was extremely professional and knowledgeable, but most important - delivered the tour with such passion. Her love for the Park is infectious (and this is coming from an NPS employee). I've been on numerous tours in my life and this one ranked among the best. Though I know numerous folks are disappointed about the road closure (complete act of nature and nothing can remedy that), but that is not a reason not to visit this stunning Park. My one piece of advice would be to hire a tour guide that delivers. I would recommend Denali Backcountry Adventure and the expertise and professionalism of Patty!

We loved patty

Our guide was great. Very nice personality and super knowledgeable. Unfortunately due to the landslide/natural forces we had an abbreviated tour which was less enticing than the initial tour we signed up for. I think I would still recommend the full tour to others.

A long, but worthwhile tour
Jul 2021
This is a 13.5 hour tour of Denali National Park which travels down the park's 92 mile long road. The bus stops for animal sightings and ranger stations. At Katishna, we had a decent lunch (not a buffet due to Covid) and a choice of activities. I chose the Fannie Quigley cabin, the home of a pioneer Alaskan settler. Animal sightings are not guaranteed, but we did see moose, a bear, and several herds of caribou. Our guide provided enjoyable commentary. Most people have one day to fully explore Denali. This is a good way to see as much as possible.

Great Tour Guide but on an old bus
Sep 2021
Why do all of these back-country adventure tours use these old school buses that are as uncomfortable as s__t.

Disappointed
Sep 2021
Bus was 1/2 hour late to arrive. Bus driver was texting while driving on highway. Driver required everyone to wear a mask, but did not wear one. Kept checking her watch while she was driving and going over the speed limit in the park consistently. Bus broke down and had to be replaced before the park. Scenery was beautiful, but was too late in and too early out to see very many animals. Seen one bear and two groups of caribou. Understand the damaged road that shortened the trip, that was not an issue, the driver was.
