My Colors of Sunset photography tour near Denali National Park with Brian Ward was a fantastic experience. He took a group of four guest from our hotels & showed us great landscape locations with cool lighting. He was very personable & just a really cool guy that took the time with each guest to show us the best manual settings on our cameras to capture the magical moments we were able to see. I was just a guest from KY who wanted to see a moose in the wild & some amazing sights and he delivered! Highly recommend checking out his Instagram & booking a tour with him during a visit! Forever grateful that i went with my gut & booked the photography tour with Princess while we were staying at Princess Denali Lodge before our cruise & lucked out and got Brian as my guide! He encouraged us to reach out with any questions in the future & to send him a cool photo every now and then from future adventures.

Summer sunset in Denali is pure magic. A photo tour is a great addition to your Denali activities because it will enhance your photography skills for the rest of the trip. Thanks for visiting and joining us!

Had an amazing time. My husband and I were the only ones there. Big thanks to Todd who realised that we knew something about photography and took us to some amazing places. I had a new camera and he taught me how to get the best out of it, thoroughly enjoyable experience I would recommend to anyone interested in photography.

I spent an evening with Todd Whetstine learning to improve my skills while photographing some of the beautiful scenery outside of Denali. The area along the Denali Highway is as beautiful as the Park, and more accessible. I learned to turn off the manual and be more creative with my digital SLR. Those skills came in handy the next day when we saw caribou and moose in the Park during dusk. I would recommend that visitors go with the photo guides early in their stay at Denali to get better photos. One never knows what will be seen and when!

Terry was very focused on customer service and providing the picture opportunities that we wanted. He also gave us suggestions on where we could go on our own while in the area to also get good unique pictures. We greatly appreciated the small group size and the pickup/dropoff service. Great experience!

My husband and I booked the Denali Colors of Sunset Tour through Princess Cruises for our first night staying in Denali. We met in the Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge Lobby at 8:00 p.m. for our tour. We were driven around to various sites in a pickup truck. There was one other couple on the tour, and the gentleman was quite an experienced photographer with an amazing camera and lenses. His wife did not take photos and she mentioned that she was only there to support her husband. My husband used his Iphone 14 Promax and I used my Iphone 14 Promax and my Sony a6300 mirrorless lens camera for photos. We love to take photos but we are not experienced in photography by any means. Our guide, Tyler, was very kind and informative and he drove us to several great sites to take photos. Tyler worked with my husband and myself and showed us different settings to use on our cameras. The other gentleman on our tour did not really need any guidance, but Tyler also spent time talking with him. I was a bit concerned that I might be taking too much of Tyler's time, but then the other gentleman on the tour started giving me tips and guided me as well. It was a great experience. It was wonderful to have two people that are very passionate about photography providing tips and guidance. The weather did not cooperate for our tour and it was very gloomy and cloudy until near the end of our tour when we were blessed with some color! While we were driving back to our lodge (at 11:20 pm), we spotted a moose at the side of the road! Tyler turned his truck around so that we could shoot some photos of it from the side of the road. This was icing on the cake! Tyler provided his phone number and address and welcomed us to call with any photography questions we might have after the tour. We were glad we booked this tour!

Just had a three hour workshop/tour with the Denali Photo's guide Paul Martin and had an amazing time. Paul took us (only two of us - so very personal) down the Denali Highway to some of his favorite spots - we were not lucky enough to see wildlife but that did not spoil the tour. We stopped and some incredibly scenic spots and with Paul's expert guidance got some great landscape shots. Paul was exceptional and certainly knew his stuff (you should look up some of his photos on line) and taught me a lot of very useful tips and expanded my understanding of light and composition helping me to capture the best shot. It was so much fun that I am writing this review - something I do not normally do. It was the best three hours on my trip so far - amazingly beautiful scenery and a great learning experience - I highly recommend Denali Phot Guides and especially Paul Martin.

This tour was informative, scenic, fun, and just the right duration of 3 to 3 1/2 hours. Our guide, Paul, gave each of we three participants plenty of individual help with our photography questions and offered many useful tips. The drive South on the old Denali highway was interesting and provided many lovely landscape photo opportunities. As a bonus we saw a moose cow and her twin offspring. Probably the best outing of my entire two week trip to Alaska.

I visited Denali in July 2018 and not 2019 as indicated above. We were on Princess Cruise from Vancouver to Anchorage. We decided to book inland Alaska where I booked Denali Photography Workshop. Terry and Eva came to the hotel to pick me up to take on various locations. It was an excellent experience with a lot of techniques we had learnt from Terry and Eva was alwayscthere to support. Terry also was very helpful in sharing with us his equipment such as filters etc.. We enjoyed so much that he supported us one hour over the time stipultated. The group was quite small one, only 3 persons. On returing home to Malta I continued keeping in contact with Terry every time I needed advice and always replied back. Terry thank you in getting me into landscape photography. I highly recommend this experience with Terry.

We got to go places we would not have seen otherwise. Great instruction from Mike the photographer. We learned to take good pictures with both a DSLR camera and a smart phone. This helped us take much better pictures the rest of our trip.

We had an excellent time with Michael as our guide. He showed us how to take better pictures with our phones and knew all the best places to take us while the sun was setting. I now know how to take beautiful scenic pictures. He also pointed out lots of wildlife along the way. We were able to capture pictures of a moose with her calf, a beaver, porcupine, and an owl.

Our tour is great for all photographers and cameras! We have had many people come on our tour with only a phone camera. While there is less to learn about phone cameras, the tour is a great way to see the beautiful landscapes and look for wildlife. Plus we offer the smallest group size of all tours in Denali, so you really feel like you have the landscape all to yourself. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

We are based in Denali, which is over 100 miles from Talkeetna so unfortunately we don’t pick up there. However we do pick up at the Princess Wilderness Lodge located just outside of the Denali National Park entrance. Please come see us in Denali!
