This was a nice little side trip from the Visitors Center and we got to see the sled dogs up close and personal as well as seeing a display of them pulling a sled. Just wish the demonstration lasted a little longer as they only...More

We had the opportunity to view the sled dog demonstration on our way out of the National Park. It was very informative and enjoyable, and we got to pet some of the dogs afterwards. Not a whole lot of history about sledding dogs over Alaska...More

The staff gives an excellent presentation on the history of the Denali sled dogs and their current mission. You have the opportunity to interact with the dogs. You have a much better chance of getting their attention between the presentations when they aren't thinking they...More

Make sure to visit the Denali Sled Dogs. They do 3 free shows a day during the summer. It was informative and fun.

Getting to see and interact with these sled dogs is a unique experience and well worth the time while at Denali. When we were there, few of the dogs were actually available for interaction but we enjoyed the demonstration and information provided.

We rushed from our hotel as soon as our bags were in the door to make the afternoon show, and it was well worth it. A short shuttle ride from the visitor's center takes you to the site, where you can pet some of the...More

Because we had a car, we could drive right up to the dog kennels. We arrived 45 minutes before the presentation which gave us time to walk around to see the dogs. Viewing stands for the presentation are on 3 levels. Only the bottom level...More

This was our first time when we were so up-and-close to sled dogs, and these dogs are majestic! We took the 9:15 AM shuttle for the 10 AM show, and the buses were packed. The ranger (sorry don't recollect the name) was excellent. He told...More

Denali is the only national park that maintains and trains dog sled teams. The dogs are used for heavy backwoods work in the winter. I loved this park attraction and demonstration of a sled team in action.

You have the option to take a bus from the visitor center or you can hike there. The bus ride is a short ride and offered round trip. Dress casually, the same as you would for the national park!
