This hike was strenuous. If you aren't in decent shape you probably shouldn't do the climb. It took me and my college buddies about 3 hrs round trip. The view at the top is well worth the pain getting there. Gorgeous views of the canyon and backside of the park. We hung out on top for a half hour or... More

I work the summer in Denali. One day after work I hiked up to the ridge and camped at the top just to get out of the canyon. The views were great and it was nice to get away. It was windy up top and colder than I expected. I went on a clear day and watched the sunset at... More

A short but steep hike to the overlook. Note that this is not the peak of Mt Healy, that is further along on an unmaintained part of the same trail. Nice views (saw the very top of Denali) and very windy. It took us about 3 1/2 hours round trip. This included a stop along the way up that had... More

This hike was one of our highlights to the Denali National Park. It was well marked, good trail with gradual incline to the top. Some sections were scree and scramble beyond the official area at the top, but worth the extra effort for the amazing 360 degree views. It was very hot even in the morning with the sun out!... More

If you are there just go a little farther, Worth the extra distance. Great picture shots, pretty scenery, nice overlook and well marked trail.

Pretty steep and strenuous but the views at the top are worth it. You can see the top of Denali on a clear day. I'd recommend going early in the day if it's going to be sunny because most of the trail will be in the sun.

This is one of our favorite Denali hikes. It starts out easily in the forest and then gets rather steep as you climb to the overlook. We are in pretty good shape, and the walk took us about 2 3/4 hours, faster down than up. The views of the mountains and valley are very worth the hike. It is a... More

Our final hours in Denali Park were spent here & we thoroughly enjoyed it. The sun came out, so we were glad to have started in the morning before it became too hot for an uphill climb. We did not meet many folk in the way up but it got a lot busier on the way down. This meant that... More

This hike is all uphill and steep. Didn't even take 3 hours to complete it, I'm a fit marathon runner. The views were worth it. I saw kids going up between 7-8 years-old as I was coming down, not sure how their tiny legs made it.

We only went half way up the trail with our two and five year olds. Even at that point, the views were incredible. We hope to go back one day and hike to the top.
