An awesome loop drive through an array of canyon hills and mountains. Very interesting colors and textures. Several spots to stop and walk around to get a closer look. Really enjoyed it!

Gorgeous hills colored green, red, and white from various minerals. Combine it with the fun artist's drive that provides beautiful scenery among winding turns and hills.

We reached the Artists Palette at the recommended time of 4pm in February for photography. There were 2 places during the trip where there were overlooks with parking. Presumably, these were the highlights of this path. The rocks and scenery were OK but not stunning...More

Artist's Pallette is part of Artist's Drive reached by car. There is a trail to hike down into the canyons below, not too strenuous if you're in any kind of hiking shape. The remarkable thing is the many colors of the hills & mountains that...More

Very worthwhile but if viewed at dawn or dusk, it is truly elevated to a five out of five rating for anyone.

Very nice. A part of Artist's Drive. Must do if in park. Not far from Inn at Death Valley. Take time to take it in.

Artist's Palette is the main attraction on the scenic Artist's Drive. It is famous for the colourful volcanic and sedimentary rocks, including red, pink, yellow, green and purple. The colours are most vibrant in the late afternoon and around sunset. There is a small but...More

If you have never seen blue sand/rock, this is the place to do so. It is an amazing geologic site with blue, lavender, pink and brown-white rocks all around you. We thought that it was a highlight of the park.

Where you get out of the car on artists Drive and get close to the vibrant colors and formations. You can take a short walk and then pictures or you can do a more extensive hike through the colorful rock formations (not for summer).

The colors of sediment - pink, lavender, green flow down the hillsides and mix the way that colors do when one is painting. It's amazing. An absolute must do when in Death Valley.

I am not sure why Artists Drive is closed, the road seemed perfect to me. You can pull off to the side of the main road and walk to the area......once there, walk up to the ridge, you can look all over the Palette from up... More
