another good time to visit Death Valley, with no crowds on first day of spring 2021. It was windy here, a nice time for short hike to see a great view of the crater,

This is a great way to feel that you have stepped on to another planet - or maybe just another country! The crater is amazing. It is huge, and well maintained. It looks as if the crater was pulled and formed a second one. The trail around is the perfect opportunity to see the crater from all sides, but also get a birds eye view of the valley. There is no shade on the trail, so I would definitely recommend going early in the morning. It is a great add on for the Racetrack and the sailing rocks!

The feeling of coming to the area around Ubehebe Crater felt like being in a Star Wars movie in a galaxy far, far away. This amazing place is worth its drive in itself and I highly recommend to hike the loop around the crater. Then you will be able to enjoy the area and still see both Ubehebe Crater from different spots as well as be able to see Little Hebe Crater. Enjoy this remarkable place.

I can’t say enough about this experience. You will probably never see anything like it. Beautiful area,l. Moderate hike to both craters. A little more difficult if you go to the bottom, (highly recommended)

Well worth the drive out to see this 2000 year old gem! Colors were amazing. Took the walk around the rim. Fantastic views, mind the edge! Saw a fair number of brave souls who ventured down the bottom of the crater ~ good for them! There is a ranger station just before the crater, if you need El Baño. It's a cary in, cary out.
