    Breathtaking Views
This is a must stop and see when in Death Valley. The views are absolutely breathtaking and beautiful. We went twice, once to watch the sunrise over the point. Highly recommend! The walk to the top is pretty easy. It’s a paved walk way. There’s a portion that does have a pretty steep incline. There’s also hiking trails that start at this location.

One of Death Valley’s must-see places
A stop at Zabriskie Point is highly recommended when visiting Death Valley. It's particularly spectacular right around sunrise and sunset. The walk from the parking area to the viewpoint is up a moderately steep slope but it’s nicely paved and there are places to rest along the way. For most of the day, a few minutes at the viewpoint is all you're likely to need but when the light is changing around sunrise or sunset it's easy to spend a half-hour or more there. There are restrooms at the parking area.

My Favorite Place in Death Valley NP
There are so many great things to do and places to see in Death Valley National Park. However, my favorite by far is the view and experience at Zabriskie Point. There is nothing like the colors of the Golden Canyon Badlands with Manly Beacon looking across Death Valley to the Panamint Mountain range. This place was truly amazing for me when I first saw it 12 years ago and was still my favorite thing when we visited this time. In fact we came twice to see the view during the afternoon and at sunrise the next day. While sunrise is incredible in many places in the park, Dante's View being another, the experience here was just not easy to describe. You will have to see the pictures. Just as incredible as the sunrise for me was the setting of moonset where the Panamints were a purple hue over the yellow tones of the badlands. No matter when you visit this place is simply special. To tell you how special, this is the actual site of the U2 Joshua Tree cover photo. You will not find any of the that epic photography in Joshua Tree National Park as all the photos were taken in Death Valley with Zabriskie Point for the cover. As for your visit, there is a slight climb up a badlands hill to a paved observation area that provides that incredible view of the badlands and Manly Beacon. You can also begin an incredible hike to either Gower Gulch or the Golden Canyon from this spot or see both on a 6 mile loop. However and whenever you choose to see it is up to you, but no trip to Death Valley NP is complete without a stop at Zabriskie Point.

Stop by to see a lot of colorful hills
The first stop after the entrance to the national park, and one of the most interesting places that you can see in Death Valley. I liked the colorful hills in front of me took a lot of nice pictures there. I liked it a bit more than Artists Palette that I saw a bit later on. This place won't be such a long stop, I would say up to 30 minutes. But in any case, wear a hat and apply sunscreen lotion. To always carry and drink water is a must in this park.

Stunning landscape here. If you are able to visit, sunrise and sunset in particular offer magical moments for photography and admiration of the landscape. The hills are beautiful and present a colorful array of shades and contours. This is one of the most popular stops in Death Valley National Park. We would rank this as one of the must stops during your visit.

A fantastic lookout in Death Valley. Beautifully colored canyons surround you as you gaze down at the Martian-like moonscape below you. Come here in the afternoon for one of the best spots to watch the sun set.

My son and I visited Zabriskie Point when we visited Death Valley. Zabriskie Point is a short drive from the Furnace Creek Visitor Center. It is a beautiful area where the erosion of thousands of years has made beautiful shapes and colors in the rocks.
It is named after Christian Zabriskie who managed the borax works that used to ship borate out of Death Valley. I remember my mother talking about her parents using Twenty Mule Team Borax when she was a girl. I think it was used as a detergent primarily.
Zabriskie Point is a beautiful view and I recommend a visit.

This is yet another spot in the park that is a complete gem! If you are looking for a great spot to view the sunrise this is it although it can get really busy! We got there early and there were still a ton of people however it is completely worth it. The rock formations and the colors on those formations is incredible. You will just stand up there in awe wondering how those formations and colors came to be. Definitely worth the drive and the very short hike to the viewpoint.

We walked up to Zabrinskie Point twice (an easy walk uphll from the parking lot.) We went at sunset and mid-morning. Sunset was highly recommended but I preferred the amazing light and colors during the day. Do not miss this awe-inspiring view.

Yet another one of these vistas that pictures really do not do it justice. Just so amazingly unique, you just want to look out at the rock formations for a bit and take in the vast expanse of the whole thing. It's been like that for centuries!

We left Vegas around 8:00am and were back in time for dinner. We didn’t do a lot of hiking in Death Valley but enjoyed the Scenery and the stops. We drove there on NV160 through Pahrump. We returned via Beatty on US95. We followed day 1 of the itinerary laid out by earthtrekkers blog.

Zabriskie Point is an easy stop with amazing views that are unique from other areas in the park. We didn't do any hiking at this stop. Just walked up the paved path and took in the views. We eat lunch at this stop and were a little disappointed that there were no picnic tables (we actually didn't really see any in the park). There are a few benches on the walk up the path but not really great places to eat. The views are stunning. We visited Death Valley on a beautiful Friday in February. Make sure you sunscreen and a hat.

The colors and views here are not to be missed. It is extremely popular so if you are going at a crowded time, it might be difficult to get that perfect picture without the crowds in the background. It is located along 190, which is the road into the park so we chose to do this stop at the very end of the day as we were driving out of the park. There were fewer people and we were able to get some good shots

You can't miss it. I don't mean you have to do it. I mean that since it is only 5 miles down the road from Furnace Creek, you can't miss it!

Parking can be an issue during the busy part of the day. Because there are hiking trails that emanate out from this vantage point, sometimes the cars don't move very often. And knowing how popular this place is during sunrise and especially sunset, we purposely avoided it. But it is a place that you have to visit if you are in Death Valley.

We stopped on our way out of the park for sunrise. So does everyone else. Other than Badwater, it was the busiest location we visited. It’s a line of people with tripods and fancy cameras all half asleep and a little cold. My husband and I sat on the wall and enjoyed the view for about 10 min and then left.
