This lake is simply spectacular! We took a side trip from the Oregon coast to spend a day here and we were not disappointed! We arrived early in the morning (and I recommend this) and took the Garfield Peak trail right by the lodge to...More

Upon arriving, I wasn't totally sure what to do. I came in from the south entrance, and when I first saw the lake, I was nearly brought to tears. I can't imagine what the first human that found this spot was feeling. Following this, I...More

I kind of hate to review our national parks because their popularity is starting to do more harm than good. I have been to this park several times during the last fifty years. The last two times the area was covered in snow and ice!...More

This is a beautiful place, and it wasn't too crowded, but if you aren't there in the morning, especially during fire season, you run the risk of not seeing anything because the smoke comes in and covers the lake.

Beautiful deep blue and Indigo water. Rim drive allows you to see it from all directions. Smoke moved in later in the day and settled over the lake. Recommend an early visit and check fire forecasts.

Oregon's cleanest lake is one of a kind. The gorgeous surroundings within the park is beyond belief. I recommend friends and families to see this place.

The beautiful blue water is great to view from the Rim Village Cafe. We walked around the crater rim enjoyed all of the views from each lookout. Keep an eye out for forest fires. The smoke got pretty heavy riding into the park but cleared...More

We were up there a month ago, so there were no fires at that time near Crater Lake. I would look at the Crater Lake Webcams just prior to your trip and determine if it is worth it. You could also try calling the ranger... More

You can totally travel around Crater with a large vehicle like that; it will be slow going and the drivers behind you will want to tear their hair out because they will be trapped behind you on the single, no-passing roads... More
