The trolley takes you around the whole lake in comfort with a park ranger as a guide. This allows all to see the sights and no one is left with the driving. The guides are very knowledgeable and thoroughly enjoy this part of their jobs.With...More
The three hour tour is by far the best way to see Crater Lake. Our guide was thoroughly well versed in the history of Crater Lake and the surrounding regions as well as the geology of the area. He was interesting, humorous and his commentary...More
This is well worth the price, although you could drive around the lake yourself. What makes it worth doing is the National Parks Ranger narration throughout the ride, and the depth of knowledge they have, being able to answer almost any question. Kudos to Ranger...More
From online reservations to comfort (they even gave everyone our own seat pad) to the synergy of the driver (Dianne) and the Ranger (Charlie) - this was excellent!

Our guide was amazing. She was friendly, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and gave a great overview of the park. We had all ages on the trolley and everyone loved it; from age 2 to age 89. The drive is very intense and our driver did a great...More
Unfortunately our trolley tour was canceled due to wildfires. Understandable, but still disappointing. We asked the park ranger, on entry, about the trolley and he never mentioned the cancellation. However we totally understood the need to keep people safe, and not charge unnecessarily.
My family of 6 (adults) did this ride. We enjoyed the information shared by the (volunteer) park ranger and we appreciated not having to drive the road which has no guard rails. The road isn't particularly narrow but it's nice everyone can enjoy the scenery....More
This was a great way to see the sights from around the rim of the lake. It allowed us all to enjoy the sights and stop at various locations that we might not have stopped if we were driving. The tour is 2 hours and...More

we took the trolley tour this year the last week of June. I'm not sure if it makes a whole lot of difference but the one we took went in a clockwise Direction. that would be from the trolley departure point and facing the lake clockwise would be to the left. if it takes the same direction then the lake would be on the passenger side. there are plenty of places where the lake can be seen from the trolley but not as much as you think, you're better views are from the the stops that the trolley will make. seating was first come first serve and after every stop everybody went back to their original seats. they will make a number of stops to view the lake and on our tour there was a ranger acting as tour guide.
