The stop and start swaying all night of the Amtrak train was worth it (note to self: sleeping pills next time), but what a wonderful service to get from Klamath Falls to Crater Lake and return. We managed to snag a night at the Crater Lake Lodge. Amtrak and the trolley got us there by 11:00 am and left the... More

The lake is amazing. The views are amazing. You do stop at the major viewpoints too. The facts embedded in the ranger's talk were interesting and we learned a lot about the history of the park. However, I can't give this a stellar review because I was surprised by some of the "banter" between the ranger and the driver and... More

9/1/16-Ranger Carl and Driver Bill (?). It was so interesting to learn about the history and geology. Driver was incredible maneuvering along narrow roads and construction! Carl was also a wealth of knowledge about exploring the park on foot. Carl and Bill were both friendly, warm, funny guys. The smoke from a CA fire obscured a lot of the view... More

An hour around the lake, 6 stops for shutter-fans, comfortable seating. Monitored by Park rangers, the rim drive includes educational comments that make the tour interesting. Great way to view the beautiful surroundings with no hassles at all. Relax and learn many facts about the lake, the volcano and the wildlife. A definite for all, young and old.

We took the Crater Lake trolley tour around the rim drive. We wanted to see all the highlights without having to drive ourselves. The trolley company is privately owned, but includes a national park ranger on board. Our ranger was great, telling us all about the history and geology of Crater lake, interspersed with 5-6 stops where we could get... More

My wife and I wanted to learn more about Crater Lake and the boat tours were all booked for the day and so we took the trolley. Since we wanted to drive around the rim this seemed like an excellent way to see all of the sights and also hear the ranger tell us about the lake, the wildlife, and... More

Our jolly ride, narrated by Ranger Patrick was the highlight of our day trip. We caught the first ride of the day 10 AM. Not driving ourselves had its perks... 1.driver Bill & Ranger P. drove us straight to highlights of the Rim Road (no agonizing online research on where to stop)... 2. neither one of us missed out on... The trolley ride is a wonderful way to see Crater Lake without the worries of driving. A park ranger narrates the trip which goes around the lake. The trolley stops several times for pictures. Early in the season there is still snow on the road so the trolley can't go completely around the lake but it is still a wonderful... More

A park ranger narrates these tours, which are 1 hour long. You get a history of the park, information about flora and fauna, and information about each stop. Ours was quite knowledgeable and entertaining. You get to stop at Cloudcap Overlook, the highest point in the park, Vidai Falls, Phantom Ship Overlook, and Watchman Overlook to name a few points... I brought my youngest son for his birthday and my grandson on the Crater Lake Trolley tour and we just loved it! My son is a history buff and enjoyed the information from Ranger Ann. Our Trolley driver, Bill, was an added enjoyment with his wonderful sense of humor. We stopped along the way for this 2 hour tour and... More
