This is a great way to be introduced to Crater Lake. Whether this is your total tour or the beginning of time to be spent in the park, the guide (a park ranger) gives great info about Crater Lake.

Taking the Trolley was perfect to see Crater Lake. The stops were great, educational and perfect photo opportunities. The Ranger and Trolley Operator were a good team on this excursion around Crater Lake.

We are independent travelers and rarely enjoy bus tours, but, by the time we arrived at Crater Lake, I was ready to park the rental car for the night. But it was noon and we still wanted to explore the rim which was partially closed by snow (in July). So, we walked and hiked until we were tired, and then... More

The trolley lets you see a lot of Crater lake in 2 hours. If you have limited time or mobility issues, this is a great way to see the lake. The reason for the 3 stars is the Ranger we had. He was a horrible public speaker. He would read a lot of what he was saying. He wasn't even... More

Great driver/tour guide, but the weather was not cooperative. It was drizzly and foggy and we could barely make out the lake. The park hadn't cleared the east rim drive so we had to double back and didn't get to drive the whole way around which was a bummer, but we wouldn't have seen anything anyways, will go back and... We learned about this when we arrived at the park, and luckily they still had space on the 10am tour for us. Note to self: next time make a reservation. We had Ranger Dave as our tour guide. He lives in the park year-round and was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions.

This tour was about 2 hours long with a US Park Ranger riding shotgun to educate you about the park. Our Ranger was very engaging and knowledgable. He was also very amusing, which made for a good time. The trolley stops at several lookouts for picture taking. This tour goes completely around the rim of the park so you get... More

With younger kids we decided not to make the hike down to the water and to take the trolley instead. Big mistake. While we did get beautiful views of the caldera and extra info about the area, it was boring.

Give yourself plenty of time to see the stunning scenery and perhaps have lunch in the Lodge with its lovely fires. Make sure you take plenty of photographs. We went on the two hour trolley tour with an excellent guide.

Ranger Brian made the already incredible Crater Lake experience over the moon by creatively educating us on the geology and history of this fabulous place. We loved every minute of the Crater Lake Trolley.
