Although this hike is only 1.75 miles one way, what awaits for you at the end is a spectacular view of an awesome arch that should not be overlooked by anybody. I was so impressed and in awe when reaching the top of the arch,...More

This was a fun hike with some interesting views. The arch was an arch but we were a bit spoiled by Arches and Canyonlands. The hike is moderate, with a lot of hiking up through switchbacks.

My husband and I hiked up to Cassidy Arch and it was gorgeous! We repelled down and into the various slot canyons below! It was so fun and incredible. Absolutely loved it!! Would do it again in a heartbeat.

This hike was listed in the guidebook as "moderate" and I really have to take issue with that--for two of us in our 60's (but regular exercisers in god shape) it was strenuous! The first third of the hike is a steep ascent via a...More

This was a fantastic hike. Start early in the morning, it will be cooler and shadier. Walk down the wash a bit til you see the sign for the trail going up. For the first mile you can basically follow the footprints in the sand....More

Was glad to finally check this off the bucket list. Excellent views. Recommend you do this in early morning or a time of year when temperatures are lower. A lot of elevation gain to get up to the arch.

This is a great rip in the fall. Capitol Reef has so much great hiking in canyons and along ridges that one can't begin to explain it all. The trail to Cassidy Arch is steep in parts but not too badly so that kids and...More

A good walk along the wash between high-sided walls, the surroundings and scenery are impressive. There is a short sign-posted ascent at the end - plus a whole lot of people - to guide the way.

We hiked Cassidy this morning, with an eight-year old and a one-year old in tow. We made it a point to get up, out, and to the trailhead early (6:45), and were rewarded in so many ways - much of the hike was shaded, the...More

We got confused as to where the trail starts. It starts about 0.2 mi into the grand wash, and you'll see a Stone sign on the left hand side that points to the left of the trail. It's a moderately strenuous hike with steep elevation...More

We set off at about 6am to beat the worst of the June heat and so glad that we did. We were only the second car at the trail car park and we overtook the hiker from the first car almost immediately and so had...More

What a trip! We only had one day to tour the park but we had an early start. We went to the visitors center to find the "one day, places you have to see" list. Good Idea! We were invited to see Cassidy Arch and...More
