What a great place to see the sunset at Capital Reef. The trail is easy and the 360 views are beautiful. Peaceful and quiet. There were only a couple of people when we arrived, and we were the last car in the parking lot when we left.

It's a short, fairly easy trail so definitely worth it- the view is fantastic. Would recommend it for sure.

Just a short distance from the parking lot to the scenic overlook of Sunset Point, it's a photographer's paradise.

This was a great spot to watch the beauty of the sunset unfold! It's an easy trail to hike up and there are plenty of spots to sit and relax with your camera at the ready! Make sure to look all around - the sunset lights up the canyon walls like fire! Also, make sure that you take the hike... More

The sunset view in this case is away from the sun as it sets on the red cliffs of Capitol Reef. A short 1/3 mile walk leads you to a series of high points offering magnificent views of the sandstone cliffs, and even a couple of benches to sit on along the way! Just as the sun sets the cliffs... Wow...Beautiful Views....Easy Drive to the viewing point. There are many places to see in the park but this Point is the best and you do not have a tough walk...

It is a short drive on a dirt road back to Sunset Point. There is another hike that also takes off from the parking lot at the end of the road. Neither hike takes long and both have spectacular views! I imagine it would be great to go out to this point at sunset!

Drive the short dirt road as you enter the park from Torrey. This is the first stop on your right. Short drive on a dirt road. Both hikes originate in this parking area. Both areas have great views and don't take up a lot of time. Easy walking to each and rewarded with great views.

We did this relatively quick trail just a half hour before sunset. We were given grand photo opportunities. The full moon was the icing on the cake! Really majestic.

At sunset this is a great place to visit! The walk is easy, and the views are spectacular. It isn't crowded, and it is oriented in a way that the sun changes things as it sets.
