We rode two days with this outfitter.. Day one the 1/2 day ride.. day two Thunder Mountain. We were able to keep the same horse for day two if we desired. The scenery is just beyond beautiful. Thunder Mountain is not for the faint at heart, very narrow traversing trails up and down the sides of mountains, but the views are spectacular!!Mike and Gayleen were very accommodating, taking pictures for us, entertaining us with song and stories. Just so special to see the countryside on horse- back. On our last day we did the Kodachrome ride. “Hap” was delightful and really studied up on the geology of the area to keep us all informed. Great rides.. great guides..great horses

My husband and I went on a tour at Kodachrome Basin with Hap. It was more than just a horseback tour though... I am terrified of horses, and something was drawing me into to pushing past that fear that particular day. Hap could not have been more patient and understanding with me. They carefully selected the right horse for the challenge and Hap struck the perfect balance of being right there with me, while also distracting me with conversation. It was a success and I will be back to enjoy it even more the second time, with a little of that fear abated. We highly recommend the ride.

We went for a one-hour ride with three kids (9 and two a month shy of 6) while visiting the Bryce Canyon area. Mike made sure that the kids stayed safe and had a lot of fun. They asked to go back the next day! Also, make sure to try the pie from the restaurant. It was divine. One piece of advice if you are used to riding helmets - you will need to bring them with you.

We took an all day trail ride. Our guide, Michael Tyree, was very informative, kind and funny. Told a lot of good stories about Butch Casidy and took us to one of Cassidy's hide out. We would love to come back and do it again. We lost a phone on the trail but Tyree and the hotel staff was instrumental in getting our phone back to us. A shout out to the hiker who found it and called it in. We'll done everyone!!

We booked the 2 hour ride through Kodachrome with Hap. He made our ride so memorable and fun. He was full of interesting information about the basin and was excellent with the kids. Our horses; Comanche, Zeke, Weep, Oreo and Cash were well behaved and sweet. We truly won’t ever forget this ride and it was an amazing way to see the off-the-beaten path sights. We feel as if we have made new friends here in Utah! It’s a must!

Kodachrome Basin 2-hour trail ride was awesome! Hap and Emily made sure we had a great time. The scenery was gorgeous, the horses were great and well cared for. Hap made sure the horses matched our skill levels. He is very knowledgable about the geology, vegetation and history of the area, and shared a lot of information during our ride. They obviously enjoy what they do, and went out of their way to make our ride memorable. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

My husband & I highly recommend the 2 hour Kodachrome Ride. Emily and Hap were both very friendly and accommodating. They had no other bookings for the day, so we lucked out and got a private ride on the spur of the moment. The horses were well trained and cared for, as was the tack. The scenery was out of this world - so nice to ride down in basin, right at the base of the rocks. Hap was very knowledgeable about the history and geology of the area, making the ride even more enjoyable!

We did the two hour ride, deep into canyon then up to top ridges with huge view. Real trail ride thru pines stream beds etc. Group of eight withe two guides. Rusty (owner) led group and told lots of history as we rode. They took our picture on overlook with OUR camer, which they did for each couple, very nice. Family business and great canyon. Do this one, you will be glad you did.

The description on line said that the riders would stop at a corral and be told "cowboy stories" We never stopped or heard any cowboy stories and most of the ride leaders were teenagers who were nice but not very engaging. I had read a previous review that said the same thing.... I should have listened.

We booked with Red Canyon Trail Rides after finding that the Bryce Canyon rides were all fully booked and to be honest it was probably the best thing that could have happened. We were a group of 4 : 2 adults and 2 children (10 and 9) and we booked a 2 hour ride in the morning. Everything was very well organised - horses very well kept and behaved. We left on time and in the end it was just our group so it felt very personalized (in contrast to the large groups we saw on the Bryce Canyon horse trails). The trail itself is a beautiful loop and our guide was great with the stories of the area. Highly recommended tour and next time we are there we will probably do the half day or full day trials.

Is this trail ride a great alternative to Bryce? All Bryce rides are completely booked.

So sorry for the delay but yes! Great alternative to Bryce. They actually do Bryce as well...not sure if you meant they were booked out as well. But, either way, the 2 hour through Red Canyon is great!

Hi..my family and I are heading to Bryce Canyon in June. We are planning a trail ride. After readying about Red Canyon Trail ride reviews we are considering booking the Cassidy Trail half day ride. None of us have experience on horseback. My husband and I haven't been riding in years and our children (16 and 20) have never been on horseback. Everyone who reviews says they felt very safe and that they had a great experience. My question is this: How scary is the ride down? We watched some youtube videos of canyon rides in the Grand Canyon and it looks so steep with huge drop offs. It looked hair raising! I'm thinking that since you need to be 7 years or older for this particular trail ride that maybe it's not as extreme as Canyon Trail Rides in the GC.
I would appreciate any input because this is something that we really want to do.
Thanks!!

It 's not an answer , it's a question : Did you do the rides ? How was it ?
I have the sames questions like you !
