Wonderful at the park

We went there for a day to visit and have fun in the ocean. The water is real blue and warm . We went during the week so it was not busy at all. Would def go back

Small bay with limited space for dock. Need to get early there to find a place, restrooms available as well camping. There are several seatings area for meals, but again get early there.

The boat tour in Biscayne National Park is a highly recommended way to gain an appreciation for this park. We enjoyed commentary from a retired biologist who now serves as a park volunteer. He was full of information that provided us with an appreciation of the eco system and sea life in the park. The story behind the Boac Chita... More

we came here out on the concession boat ride from Biscayne NP...boring...less than one hour to walk around once we got here; really didn't need more; since it was too cold to swim; loads of partying people on this little key...it seems more like a Miami area city park with million dollar+ yachts tied up to the docking areas...they come... We took the boat ride from the NPS to the island. Boat ride was nice. The guide did a good job. He talked about the nature of the park. I would have also liked to hear about the history of the park too...shipwrecks. The island was nice but nothing special. Typical Florida island. Not a lot to see there. Can... More

I took the boat tour offered at the visitor center and it was awesome. There is a Park Ranger who educates and gives excellent insight into the history of Biscayne Bay (she was mic'd) on the boat ride out. We got to see many birds and stopped to look at dolphins. We had about an hour at Boca Chita once... More

Boca Chita is very close to home for me, so I love visiting it. A kayak trip around the island is very serene. You see pelicans, fish, stingrays, and all sorts of wildlife. It's a great place to bring friends and have a cook out, and even to camp if you're looking for that. The lighthouse is very nice although... More

Miami Dade Park Service has taken over the operation of the boat for the trip to the island. A NPS volunteer rides along and interacts with the passengers. He was very informative. The problem is he is not mic'd and only a few people can hear him. It would be a good trip had he been able to communicate with... More

Its about a 25 minute boat ride from Miami. The ride is great and walking around the island is fun just be aware of the mosquitos they were a little bad the day we were there.
