Since this national park is 95% water, you need a boat to experience it. If you are a tourist and don't rent your own boat or know someone who does, this is your best chance to get out on the water and experience the park....More

As 95% of Biscayne Nat. Park is water, the best way to appreciate it is to take the boat trip out to Boca Chita Key (provided by the Biscayne National Park Institute). I would recommend booking on the Institute’s website as space on the boat...More

We saw some signs directing us to the Biscayne National Park. We read that this was pretty much about boating and other water activities. We went inside the visitor center where an employee was telling another couple about a boat tour that was ready to...More

Took boat tour with Biscayne Institute and had a great trip. Nice 1 hour boat ride each way. The lighthouse was cool and nice view from the top. Lots of birds out there. We went during the week in the afternoon and no one else...More

The light house is nice, the harbor has an interesting history, and the hike through the hardwood is okay. Overall, this is not all that exceptional as national parks go.

Our tour guides were Castle and Michelle. They were very nice and knowledgeable. The ride out to Boca Chita was stunning. Once we got there, the island was even more beautiful. Great price/value for the level of the overall experience!

Quick trip to the park this Sunday and I took a boat tour to Boca Chita Key. Loved the ride, the ranger's presentation and the beauty of this little paradise. Suggest going on a week day rather than a weekend if you aren't up for...More

Beautiful location. Plenty of room to sit & enjoy. There's bathrooms located on the key. Beautiful little beach with shallow water. There is a lighthouse you can visit climb to the top. Camping is also allowed.

If you come to National Parks for nature, peace and quite, stay away from Boca Chita Key on a weekend. It is mobbed with board, campers and picnickers. A lot of the boats have generators up on shore, adding to the noise. There is a...More

We really enjoyed the boat tour provided by the Park Service to Boca Chita Key. It was beautiful. We hiked the short trail around the island in about 10 minutes. The lighthouse is pretty and had pretty views from it. I loved the blue water!...More

Biscayne NP sightseeing (2 Replies)
Hello - I was considering a trip to visit the park next month, but I see that the concessioner the park was working with is no longer operating. Are there any other ways to see the park, for example - by private boat? For example, if I wanted to see Boca Chita Key - is there any way to do that without having a boat myself? Any help or information you can provide would be appreciated! Paul

Sadly the park has been without a tour operator for way too long. A rental would be my only suggestion. Maybe a boat club at Black Point?

Anyone been lately? (5 Replies)
This looks to be a very quiet forum, and it seems nobody has posted since a concessionaire has come back to the park. I'm coming down Thanksgiving weekend and am considering the boat ride to Boca Chita Key and/or snorkeling opportunities, and it's difficult to find good info. I'll ask specifics if anyone's been the year - otherwise I'll probably need to call the VC (though I prefer hearing from visitors). Thanks!

It's no where what it once was, it's down to just weekend only trips with the new provider.
