Were heading to Rapid City when my brother called and asked if we were going to the Badlands, I can't repeat what he told me when I said 'No'. Since we had more than enough time we decided to swing by. Very glad we did. The staff was very helpful and the exhibits explained the geological, and human history of... More

Parking was a bit of a problem because it's so busy, but there are 2 different lots close by, so if you can't find a spot, look around the corner. It has water fountains and restrooms, and the rangers are really helpful. There's a miniature museum in there too to explain stuff. Worth a stop.

We stopped here for a stretch break after driving from the Badlands entrance near Wall. The center has several displays that explain the Badlands and wildlife. A nice little gift shop and a restaurant.

As always the NPS does a wonderful job of informing the visitor about the park's natural history. A ranger is always on duty, during business hours, to answer anything they can about the park. They have a nice Book store/gift shop with both the wonderful and the kitschy.

What a great visitors center. Excellent museum with lots of interactives for the kids and a movie. They also had an amazing fossil lab for kids to get hands on and watch someone actually working on fossils. The scientist working on the fossils would answer any of the children's questions. There is a really great store too to buy a... More

This center has a free movie that explains the formation and history of the area. Staff are friendly and encourage questions to ensure your visit is a pleasant one. They have all sorts of souvenirs and a post office so post cards get a special date stamp.

We always make it a point to stop in the visitor center when we visit a national park. The info and advice the Rangers share can't be matched. This visitor center has a particularly nice auditorium for their award-winning video and they have great exhibits explaining the geology of the area with particular focus on fossils.

Rangers are very helpful & enjoy chatting about the area. Displays were informative & interesting. 20 minutes is enough time if you don't see the short film...teenagers were too ancy to get back outside & climb
