There is a great destination for the inevitable day when it's just too wet to hike. A couple of rooms showcasing this station's history and a Navy intelligence listing station before the land was ceded to the park. About ahalf hour is all you need...More

We kind of happened upon this and we were glad we did. Very friendly staff to give tour and information about park and Schoodic history. Awesome building - just like the stone bridges on the MDI side. Great architecture

Have visited this institute a couple of times. Great history of the area, very helpful rangers, and varying displays of art by artist’s in residence.

Never realized we had a navy "listening" post located here. Began 1935 and only closed in 2002. A large base. Good to visit to find out more about the history of the peninsula and it's flora and fauna. Foot trail off the back end.

On a windy and rainy day, it was absolutely fabulous, probably my favorite spot in Acadia. I'm not going to describe the views, because I can't. And yes there is a light house. And the Institute is a pretty piece of architecture too. Don't let...More
