Hot day and great spot to swim in clear fresh mountain water. Bottom is gravel and pretty clear. Need to take Bus 7 to get there. Has bathroom/changing sites. Families using. Busy still midweek in August.

This is a great family friendly beach area in a beautiful setting at the southern end of Echo Lake. The water is warm (for Maine) and the gradual depth change make it pleasurable to just stand in or float around-great for all ages! There are...More

OK and yes, we know. The water in Maine is FREEZING. If you are looking for a relaxing swim and one kids can enjoy (the ocean waves at Sand Beach can be dangerous) this is the place for you. Bring a frisbe and stand in...More

As you may suspect, the ocean is rather cold around northern Maine, even in the summer. For those not willing to brave the frigid water, there is Echo Lake Beach. It is smaller, but not over packed. They also have changing rooms and a foot...More

Nice swimming area with a sandy beach and restrooms. There is also a hiking trail from the parking lot that goes to the top of the mountain for a nice view of the lake. A little rocky in parts and you do have to climb...More

This was a great place to stop and relax with the kids. This was off the normal busy tourist areas. It was not crowded, the water and beach are clean. Definitely worth a stop.

This is a beautiful, kid friendly beach that is fun for everyone who enjoys the water. It's a bit away from the regular highlights of Acadia, but worth the trip.

Spent a few hours here with the kids while husband went hiking. Perfect way to cool off without getting frozen in the ocean water on Sand Beach.

Nice spot large parking area several trail heads and a small “beach” rocky not sandy! Echo lake would make a great kayaking or hanging out spot. Quite during off season! Walk down to beach was steps not easy if handicapped.

This is a great park. Plenty of parking, nice changing rooms and a non-freezing swimming experience. This park does fill up quickly in the high season, so get there early if you want to make a day of it. The water is definitely warm and...More
