This was described as an easy hike with some good views. The hike had awesome views and there were not a lot of people on the trail. While it was short and was easy at the start, there were some interesting rock scrambles that required the use of hands to climb or steady ourselves as we descended. Lots of blueberry... More

this was a good hike, you got to see a lot of the different terrain of Acadia. Would have liked to gone up beehive, but had a kid that said heck no. Well worth it.

Park at the foot of the trail and head to the right-hand trail as it branches in two. This route will take you along the cliffs overlooking Sand Beach. It's a bit of a scramble up the trail over the rocks but the views are well worth it. There are also steps down to Sand Beach. If you can't manage... More

Great Head is my favorite place to hike in Acadia. The views are amazing and the hike is moderately challenging but not too hard. It is easily complete in about an hour, but I usually take longer so I can enjoy the views and rest a little.

The stupid park service has made sure that you can't enjoy this trail. Don't bother to try. The trail is good, but you'll get a park parking ticket if you don't get one of the ten parking spaces in the lot.

This trail is not so easy. it involves some rock scrambling and there are some steep ascents. But the views and the nature are beautiful, and it will only take you an hour and a half of hiking (more of course if you stop and enjoy the views). Our avid hiker kids (9 and 7) were able to do this... More

We would say take this trail in the afternoon around 4.00 pm. Not only there are less visitors but also the light on the trail for taking pictures is great. The trail is easy to do and takes about one hour. Access is close to Sandy Beach

Depending on what side of the trail you veer to is how the difficulty is. If you go right there are a few place where you have to scramble a little but it wasn't anything difficult or scary. That is the way where you get a great view of Sand Beach. It's a loop trail so you can go that... More

This is a relatively short hike in a loop. We started from Sand Beach and completed in about 1 hour 15 minutes. There were so many families and groups of hikers here. Young and old, all stages of life and fitness levels. Great spot to see Sand beach and the ocean. The trail is fairly shaded so you don't feel... More
