Ok, I need to clarify that my kids came up with that title. I did not even attempt this hike because I am terribly afraid of heights. If you have a fear of heights, or if, like me, you do not feel confident about your...More

If you have a bad fear of heights, give this one a pass. If you're from the flat lands, this might give you a bit of a rush to go up and be well worth it. If you like some adventure, be sure you do...More

I do not like heights! There are several areas where it is just scary. It is a great thrill to climb this mountain. Well worth the effort and the fear

If I wasn't laughing or grinning so much, I could have been scared. NOT for the infirm, overweight or non-adventurous ten year old. Not too high- about 500 feet, but straight up. Metal bars, hand holds, narrow ledges, at least two man made ledges- you...More

If you're up for something really different, you should try the Beehive Iron Rung hiking trail in Acadia National Park. It starts as a moderate climb, and then about 10 minutes you will find iron rungs, just like ladders, built into the stone and rock you'll...More

great hike, steep in spots. two notes of caution; 1. there is a short period where the hiker is walking along an exposed ledge which is easy to navigate and only 20 feet or so but would make some people uncomfortable. for most it is...More

This is a great hike short and technical at times. Some exposed cliff accent with iron rungs and latter steps. Not too bad but extremely busy. Trail can get congested so earlier the better. Maybe not the best for little kids or people with vertigo....More

We are a pretty active family and read many reviews of the bee hive. Our children (12,11,8,6)- can be adventurous. That being said we took beehive up, 2/4 froze. Became panicked, cried, fear took hold. After deliberation we decided we would attempt to go down---one...More

Do not attempt this hike if it is raining or windy. Definitely a better view on a clear day. Use caution with kids and those afraid of heights. Not pet friendly. I am scared of heights. I clutched to the rocks and tried to slow...More
