We liked the fact that the photography opportunities were more frequent and closer to the bottom on this trail. Only reason I didn't rate it better was because the trail was too short! Went early in the morning, and the photos were fantastic. PS: I...More

On our last day of exploring beautiful Acadia National Park, my daughter kind of hid the fact that the Beehive trail has it's dangers and is pretty tough. It is in my opinion a more advanced trail and requires a great deal of climbing up...More

After the climb we were amazed that we did it. It is a climb that involves literally hanging onto rungs and heaving yourself up. We were told to keep a three point contact at all times and that advice helped. My husband and I had...More

Did the beehive loop after deciding that precipice sounded like a little too much. It was a nice challenge, but not too hard. I hadn't done a trail like this before. Going fairly slowly, especially because I got behind a large group of teenage boys...More

While this trail is neither long, nor takes much time or fitness, it does have a bunch of places where it is narrow, and you have to climb up rungs of ladders. The good thing is that once you start on it, there is no...More

My wife and I did this hike in June and were treated with such a great experience. I will say that some of the sections are not for the faint of heart. There are a couple of spots with steep drops and we saw a...More

The Beehive Trail is a great option for families interested in doing some fun climbing with kids, but are not ready for the Precipice Trail. The Beehive is a hike that includes some climbing up iron rung ladders, scrambling up rock ledges and crossing some...More

Hi I just hiked it yesterday. In my photos it shows a section where there are metal bars that you need to use to go up vertically. Hope that helps!
