After a return to the trail after 7 years, I was quickly reminded why I love Acadia trails. There is just nothing like climbing the rocks using the rungs, getting to the top, and having the vistas of the water. Met a couple on the way down who were celebrating the completion of the trail despite a fear of heights.... More

My husband and I did a few of the shorter popular hikes on Arcadia (Bubble Rock, Great Head, Bowl) and this was my favorite one as it was more than a walk or a stroll but not very difficult while having beautiful views throughout most of it. We did go up Beehive trail and down Bowl trail as most reviewers... More

Read about it, fully informed, prepare, try it, be scared, laugh, have fun, meet fellow hikers, get to the top and give yourself a pat on the back for having climbed it. I love to hike and do it few times a year but I am not a rock climber. This trail is set up in such a way that... More

This trail is like a spectacular jungle gym for adventurous adults. It doesn't require excessive strength, but it does require an absolute absence of fear of heights - and a sharp mind as there are steep drops. Imagine climbing up a huge rock face with the aid of steps, ladders, and rails... If that sounds fun then this is for... More

Strenuous but not terribly long. I'm 50 years old and handled it OK. Would totally do it again!! Not for the sedentary! Lots of fun and lots of rungs for the vertical parts.

Even on a super crowded holiday weekend, we still enjoyed the climb, the views, the challenge and the descent. One hiker ahead of larger group lost her confidence and needed to be told she could do it and once we all encouraged her, she was fine--pretty much anyone who can climb a ladder can do this--a few folks felt the... Sorry to be so judgemental, but if you never hike or workout, are afraid of heights, have no good hiking shoes or tennis shoes to do this hike, or are planning to take your 2 year old child on this hike - just take the alternative route and do not do the hard way up. Your slowness, fear, unpreparedness, and... More

My husband and youngest daughter (15) climbed Beehive while my older daughter and I did the Great Head Trail and hung out at Sand Beach. They loved the climb, the challenges and the views. Great photos. But, make sure you are not afraid of heights and up to the iron rung climb. You go up Beehive and down the trail... More

Very good climb with two teenage boys. Challenging and lots of fun! Try taking the bowl trail down to avoid interfering with climbers trying to ascend.

This is a fun hike as long as you are willing to deal with the exposure. My friends and I went last weekend and loved it. I wouldn't recommend for younger children or those afraid of heights.
