Reading reviews we expected a gem of a beach. The road to the beach was interesting, certainly doable with any car so don’t be discouraged. Upon arrival you’re greeted by someone that will help you park, followed by someone who explains the importance of the beach and how renting their chair will help you protect the turtle nests. Beach itself is disappointing, rocky and uncomfortable. It is not very clean and the water isn’t very bright either. Certainly not suited for young kids. All in all it felt overly commercial for some rocks and some water.

The real problem is with the way that the beach is managed. In short, it is not at all clear that it is managed with the interests of the turtles in mind. Upon arrival one is accosted by representatives of the owners of tavernas which line the full length of the beach. They help you park your car and then guide you through their taverna where you are given a talk about how it is important to respect the nesting sites and to rent you a lounger for the day - most of the talk was about selling the services of the establishment. We chose to stay only a couple of hours and not to take up the offer of a lounger (5 euros). The beach itself is very nice but there are many better and quieter ones on the island. If you want to travel there and arrive from the north road, take the first car park you see - it's higher up the hill, but you will avoid all of the hard sell and perhaps have a better experience than us

During our holiday we've visited ma y different beaches but still this is our favorite one. The parking is free but it's expected that you take sunbeds. For 5 euro per pair per day this is a more then fair price. The beach itself contains a combination of sands and small stones. Shoes or flip flops to walk to the beach are comfortable. The beach contains nesting turtles which means there's most of the time a guard who keeps an eye it. The beach is relative small so don't expect a huge amount of people here. The water is very clear and gives nice opportunities for snorkeling also because it is not very deep. Do not pay too much attention to people complaining about the road. If you are just a normal driver not reason to panic, just drive in low speed. No need too rush, you are not on the highway.

the way to get the place is not easy, but once there you can enjoy this place with beautiful beach (where turtles are used to put their eggs) and a real protected marine area. You can easily see fishes; I have seen two murenas among the rocks! personnel is very kind and helpful.
