Whilst Lulworth Cove and Durdle door are amazing places to walk and visit. The need for good restaurants, cafes and coffee bars is well needed . After visiting most of the places Lulworth has to offer, I feel it would be good practice for there to be a code between all the restaurants, cafes and coffee houses.. Firstly to serve edible, fresh food and not stale rotten rubbish to the tourists. Most of these establishments thrive on serving absolute disgusting food and all with rude unprofessional staff. I’ve not yet visited one place at all that serves fresh food. How disgusting it is to our visitors that these awful establishments feel the need to serve this kind of food. Just go on to some of the places web pages and read the awful reviews.
Somebody really needs to capitalise on this and open a cafe that serves fresh food quality food, at a decent price.
Most of the people working in the establishments mentioned, really don’t want to work there at all … Cooks, chefs … really ?
So to summarise
Beautiful location with absolutely disgusting cafes, bars that would rather serve rubbish, knowing you’ll never come back.

A beautiful view of nature and geographical site. good for fit walkers as the path down is steep and slippery. Rather spoilt by tourists visiting only to take selfies and strew the place with litter.

Visited Durdle Door for the first time yesterday & it is lovely. The views from the top are beautiful.
We walked along the bay right to the other side and back. The water is crystal clear.
The walk down to the bay is fine down all the steps but be prepared for a bit of a slog coming back!
Because of this I don’t think I’d rush back.
The minimum amount of time you can park in the car park is 4 hours for £5 ( no hourly rates). I understand that the money from the parking goes towards the upkeep of the area which is fantastic. The only thing I didn’t like were the amount of doggy poo bags discarded around the pathways & cliff sides etc. This is no reflection on the people that operate the place but more on the visitors- why can’t they put dog waste in a bin????
Other than that a lovely afternoon out and well worth a visit.

Beautiful place to visit, definitely wear appropriate footwear and give yourself plenty of time to enjoy. Durdle door itself is quite underwhelming but beautiful nonetheless.
It’s dog friendly and our doggos certainly enjoyed the cove and calm waters of the bay.

Very Special place although I think overrated due to the limited variety of such spectacular natural sites in Southern England.

Parking costs money , about 5GBP which is understandable given the huge amount of British tourists arriving from across the country on a daily basis. My advice:

Do not go on Bank Holiday or Sunday, -way too crowded

There are quiet areas where you can make barbecues , (unofficially)

Stunning location and views - well worth a visit and the walk - wear flat shoes and give yourself at least an hour to do the trip

If you are in Dorset this is a must see. You do need a level of fitness but the end result is certainly worth it.
The Door is accessed by a steep hill from the parking area (£5 which is all you will pay).
Just Enjoy the stroll take in the views.
You won’t regret it

Historic natural phenomenon
Well worth a visit
Suggest if visiting make it a longer visit than just seeing the Durdle door as parking not cheap

Thank you for your comments, we are delighted you had an enjoyable visit. You may be interested to know that the car parks at both Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are part of the Lulworth Estate. The money from parking goes towards upkeep of this beautiful area, visitor services (health and safety, facilities, footpath maintenance etc) and our conservation and education programmes. One car park ticket is valid at both car parks.

We parked up in Lulworth Cove on a busy Saturday morning (very well organised, £5 for a half day) and began the pretty steep climb towards Durdle Door. The walk was popular as it was a lovely sunny day but it didn’t feel crowded and the views throughout were amazing… well worth the climb!
