The Ave Maria Oratory is a beautiful beacon of peace and a spiritual oasis. It is in the center of the town of Ave Maria.

Beautiful and peaceful
Nov 2020
I'm so glad I finally got to see it. It's beautiful inside and out. We got there late and they were getting ready to close for the day, but we saw enough that we will definitely go back. According to the gentleman we spoke to, their masses are streamed online during this covid time.

This structure, which is in the middle of nowhere, is magnificent! The level of detail, both exterior & interior, is inspiring. Just a little over an hours drive from Marco Island brings you to this remarkable structure & its’ surrounding community.

Beautiful Church and an Oasis of Prayer
Jan 2020
It's hard to believe this oratory was built in the 21st century - it looks like it could have been built 200 years ago. The architecture is amazing, and the spiritual life of the parish is wonderful. We stopped in for a weekday noon Mass and there must have been at least 400 people present: students and residents alike. The place is alive with young people with their hearts on fire with their love for their Lord. So refreshing to see young people make up the majority of the congregation.

Beautiful church to see and downtown area.
Oct 2019 • Solo
Ave Maria is an upcoming community in SWFL. More affordable housing too. The downtown area is beautiful, quaint and convenient . The church was built by the creator of Dominos pizza. (Be sure to look for the brick the commemorates it.) the story goes he loved Frank Lloyd Wright and sketched out the oratory on a napkin and then built it.

Surprisingly interesting destination.

We decided to visit and explore Ave Maria - a new destination for us. The beautiful Oratory- Catholic Church surprised us. A cathedral like structure and the beautiful design are astonishing. The booklet for our self guided tour was available by the door. You cannot visit during masses but otherwise the church is open to public and free to enter.
The design was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright. Steel design came from student of Lloyd Wright - EF Jones.
The church was build 2007/2008.
On the facade make note of 30 ft tall sculpture of Annunciation.

Big church just north of the everglades

The church is an impressive structure. New, planned community about 30 miles inland from Naples. The church is the highlight of the community and definitely worth a look see. We didn’t take a tour but glad we stopped by.

A beautiful church and an amazing find in the middle of the Everglades
Feb 2019 • Friends
An astonishing find in the middle of the Everglades, Ave Maria Catholic Church was inspired by the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright and, despite its Gothic inspiration, was only dedicated in 2008.

Originally built for the Ave Maria University, it is now the parish church of a town which is fast expanding with new housing developments.

The design of the soaring steel structure is derived from two chapels designed by E. Faye Jones, a pupil of Frank Lloyd Wright, while the joinery is inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright and contains 14 Stations of the Cross from the 1920's that were rescued from a church which was about to be demolished in Detroit and fit well within the architecture here. The outside of the apse looks like something from a space movie.

A beautiful and very spiritual church and an amazing find which is well worth the detour to discover. Note carefully the shadows cast by the lights on the Crucifix on the wall of the Sanctuary, said to represent the two criminals who were crucified at the same time.

Beautiful Cathedral, recently built (2006)
Feb 2019 • Couples
This is a beautiful cathedral built in 2006 by the CEO of Dominick’s Pizza. There is a community starting to be build in the area as well.

The church was very impressive and we enjoyed the visit and will return again.
