The food was very very expensive and simply awful. The wine and the location are nice but this does not make up for the bitter taste of spending hundreds of US$ for some of the worst food we have had in Uruguay.

For US$40 each (just the main) we got a very overcooked, dry and tough steak. With tasteless watery boiled potatoes (unseasoned), overcooked brocoli, a sauce that had mushrooms in but just tasted of red wine, and raw red pepper that clashed with everything else on the plate.

The children's food was inedible, it was milanesa so tough they couldn't chew it. They just ate fries (we ordered more and had some ourselves to spare us from the boiled potato).

It was my birthday meal and we felt completely robbed, it ruined the day. Please do avoid.

Got there interested in seeing the place. We were met by a very unpleasant woman who, in Portuguese, told us that we could only be served if we had a reservation.I asked if we could just drink a cup of wine and she, again, very unpleasantly said she would find out. We were served wine, but a very unpleasant experience. Will not go back.

Totally overrated, expensive, and extremely poor service. As an example, we waited 20 minutes to get the check to pay. We were freezing cold. The Food was not up to par with a decent restaurant. In the case of lamb, 20% portion size of normal restaurant. Nice and views. Very poor experience.

It is a place you will enjoy even if you are not keen on wine like me. Modern building, sustainable concept, amazing staff, superb food, and of course world-class wine. Our warmest regards to Kelly, Cicero and staff that made our experience special and unforgettable! My kids said they felt ‘at home’ there, they have enjoyed riding segway through the vineyards.

The food and service were excellent. Their wines, that I was already familiar with, were as always outstanding. Definitely one of my favorite places to visit in Uruguay.

The restaurant was superb! I had the steak with Tanat sauce and my wife had the lamb.
Both were outstanding!

For wines my wife had the Chardonnay and I had a blend of red which was quite good.
Service was excellent, Jacqueline and Kelly were both extremely pleasant and professional.

The wine tour was disappointing.
The guide was not forthcoming with information and quite frankly we did not like.

But we will definitely return to the restaurant which was superb. The decor is simple but quite elegant and the views are breathtaking.

Shall return

Vina Eden is a 30 minute drive from Punta del Este and worth every minute. The vistas getting there are beautiful and once there even more so. And the food is very good. We went there on a shore excursion from a cruise ship and had a pre-arranged asado menu, wine tasting and tour of the facility. We were met with a glass of champagne method sparkling wine, had a little appetizer before the tour and then sat down to a fantastic lunch of grilled beef (2 different cuts) and pork sausage. Wonderful bread was served with baked provolone cheese, with salad and dessert as well. If you go by yourself, that is, not on a tour, then you can order a la carte. The prices looked reasonable. The wines were good, especially the Tanat Reserve. The Chardonnay was also good. The service was very gracious. Would go back in a heartbeat!

The landscape is wonderful! The quality and the taste of the food was very good. But the staff are not client oriented at all. We did not have a reservation and the staff in the restaurant told us that all tables were booked. Only one table is vacant but it was very low with the sofas, not comfortable for the kids at all. The fact is that when we left in 2 hours, a lot of tables were still vacant. Nobody asked us how long time we would need for the lunch! Besides, we had to remind the staff to bring us coffee or water. But the final point that we asked to take away the kids' meals with us. The staff replied that they did not have any containers to pack it. So, even they did not want to make any effort to help us. Finally, they found a solution but it took a lot of time to explain why I was asking about it!
So, the conclusion is to improve the focus on the client!

Loved the experience. Everyone was super friendly. Mario was especially great tour guide and very informative. We loved the wines and bought several to bring back to the US with us.
