This is a tour that all dog lovers should experience.
The meeting time was scheduled for 8am, but we received an email the day before saying that it had been changed to 9:30am. (Due to the weather?)
We were picked up near the hotel and took a minibus to the place where the dogs were waiting.
As soon as we got out of the car, a smart retriever welcomed us.
After that, we had time to interact with the dogs tied up in a line.
We were very satisfied because we could interact with the dogs for quite a long time.
There were groups for the sled, and up to 4 people + guide rode on the sled.
The dogs ran on the frozen pond.
We took turns riding in the sled, and you could take a commemorative photo with the dog along the way.

They lend you a one-piece winter gear, but you need to wear thick winter gear yourself.
Your feet will get very cold while sledding, so two socks + a hand warmer will be just right.
Gloves are essential while sledding. If you sit at the front, you can take videos with your smartphone, but I was almost frostbitten because I was holding it with my bare hands.

The event finished around 1:30pm.
It was truly a wonderful memory.

Really loved this excursion! They actually let us say hello to the dogs which I wasn't expecting but made the trip even better. We did this at the end of Jan and were able to ride the sled on the frozen lake. Our musher Max told us all about his team of dogs, their personalities and how they are trained. There were four people per sled plus the musher meaning you share a sled with another couple. Each person also got to take a turn at the back of the sled which was great fun!
Would highly recommend this trip!

The tour was easy to book with a convenient pickup right near my Reykjavik hotel. After reaching the sledding site, luckily it was a clear cold day with plenty of snow. We were greeted by about 40 or so dogs of many breeds, equipped to handle multiple sleds...some barking for attention, and some more chill and relaxed, but all beautiful in their own way. Leading up to the "mush", we had the opportunity to meet the dogs, pet them, and take pictures with them. They were so inviting and friendly, and they loved the attention! As the staff prepared the dogs to begin sledding, it was quite a sight to observe the dogs happily spin and howl in anticipation. Once the mush began, I was the first to stand at the helm on our sled, and very impressed by their strength and intelligence. After periodic stops it was amazing to observe our lead dog "Chinook" look back intently waiting for the next instruction. I enjoyed the experience so much, that the 45 minutes went by so quickly. Ultimately, the dogs appeared to be well cared for and happy, which is the most important thing. Special thanks to Kristin, who was very informative on what to expect, and gave us a lesson on the type of dogs that we would be seeing that day... and to our musher Q, for his expertise and patience with endless questions. Being born and bred in an urban city environment made this extra special for me. This was a highlight of my trip to Iceland, and provides a timeless memory. Very recommended for the animal lover.

What a fabulous morning we had with the dogs. The sunrise on that beautiful, cold countryside with fresh snow made the day perfect to share with an experienced and enthusiastic guide and a team of hard-working dogs who were excited to go to work. Dog sledding was a bucket list item, wonderfully fulfilled, and worth every penny.

With a bit of luck for a spectacular sunny day, it was cold and the snow was gleaming, the team is so well organized that they have super comfortable overalls that keep you really warm. The dogs are friendly and soooo excited to go running. Real fun, beautiful site, easy to find from Reykjavik.

These guys are excellent, extremely friendly, very professional and obviously passionate about their dogs and sledding as a sport. A snow suit and visor are provided and everyone takes a turn to stand next to the driver. A great experience.

We booked this with another couple (4 total) and had a great time! Our host was Itai, who was absolutely the best!! The weather was perfect for our ride. They offered a winter suit which would keep you warm if not prepared for the cold weather. They also allowed (and encouraged) us to interact with the dogs before and during the trip. The dogs seemed well cared for and maintained by the guides. Depending on ability, each dog only pulls 1-3 sleds per day, and 2 extra dogs were added to our sled due to heavy snowfall the night before. Itai was very informational about the types of dogs they use, the overall experience, and the surrounding areas. He knew his own team of dogs well! The instructions on how to find the tour were easy to understand and it was right on the main highway. Easily accessible even in bad weather for the roads were well plowed. We would recommend this trip for anyone looking to do dog sledding in Iceland.

We would give you 10 stars if the scale went higher!! The dogs were wonderful and the staff wonderful x 10!! They were warmly welcoming notwithstanding a biting cold wind, helping us suit up -- and suit down at the end – faster than I would have believed possible. They explained everything they were doing so we learned more than I ever thought there was to know about dogsledding. And our guide, Etay, was solicitous of our group ranging from 4 to almost 74, making sure everyone was comfortable and having a great time. The only way it might have been better would be us taking a dog home!! Thank you all and mush on!!!

We booked the tour for a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens). It was a fantastic experience, even with heavy snow all day. We liked the dogs and the overall friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended! Clara was a perfect and enthusiastic musher.

Went with my partner and we both loved it! We were picked up on time by Kristin who chatted to us the whole journey about the dogs and their histories and gave us the dos and don'ts. When we arrived at the site there were 50+ sled dogs that we got loads of time to pet and take photos with. Then we were taken out with a guide who let us control the sled and told us all about the dogs!
All the staff knew all the dogs by name and by their unique personalities, and clearly cared for the dogs immensely! A brilliant and fun experience, especially for a dog lover
