We were supposed to ride at Laxnes and the storm in Iceland meant we couldn’t. However, I wanted to leave a review because the team were so flexible and accommodating. They were happy for us to postpone despite the short notice and when we couldn’t make the postpones time due to icy roads they refunded us straight away.

The communication was excellent and the customer service was great. I will definitely book again if I am ever in Iceland once more!

We booked last minute (the night before) we were picked up very punctually at the designated pick up spot. We were picked up by the owner of the farm (who’s name I can’t remmeber sorry) but he was funny, kind and pleasant. He told us a few things on our way to the farm about the area and some buildings etc. when we got the farm we met his dad who was also funny and very kind. We were fitted with helmets and given big warm snow suits as it was freezing he also provided us with a brand new pair of gloves each to put over our own gloves to keep us extra warm.
We were shown into the stables and introduced to some of the gorgeous horses there while our horses were being prepared.
After this we headed out on our horses, we are both first time riders and found our horses to be unbelievably obedient and basically they were just on autopilot following our guide in front. There was only the two of us on the tour. The scenery was breath taking and our whole experience was just lovely. We went through a few streams (which for first time horse riders like us was quite exciting and also from time to time broke into a trot for a short distance). I thoroughly enjoyed it. Christian who was our guide was pleasant and took some photos of us on our horses when we had a brief break on the tour. When we got back to the farm were taken into the bar area where we where given complimentary tea and coffee and some delicious raisin bread snack. We were taken back to our drop off point just after this. Over all we had a magical time and would highly recommend. My only suggestion would be if you don’t think you would be capable of a trot maybe just tell the guide tour before you set off.

What an experience! We just finished the most beautiful ride in the midst of a small snowstorm and it couldn’t have been more enjoyable. We were greeted by the most lovely people and suited up quite quickly. The horses were as beautiful as they were friendly. My group included two first time horseback riders and you wouldn’t have been able to tell due to how excellent the horses were. We got to experience the famous tolt gait and saw Iceland in such an impressive and majestic way. Riding in the snow made us all feel like we were in an episode of “Game of Thrones”. After the ride we were treated to cake and hot beverages and the love of a sweet old Golden Retriever named Lord Charles. We booked our excursion with Arctic Adventures and highly recommend this farm.

This was so cool!!!!! I arrived very early and was offered tea and told to relax by the radiator and warm up before I met my beautiful horse (Dima? Deema?) The family provided all the gear, which was great when riding in wind and rain! The horses were lovely and the route we took was absolutely stunning!! The crew was so friendly and helpful. I would have liked a little explanation about Icelandic horses and what makes them unique. I looked it up on their website, but I was expecting to have some kind of commentary. The ride was absolutely spectacular, but I wish we were told about the area and places we passed, as well as how to tell if/when the horses were doing the Icelandic gait. But the experience itself was so lovely that I feel drawn to research it myself. I also wish I got a picture of myself on the horse! I had the pickup and drop off service, which was personalized and friendly. I messaged my friends immediately afterwards that I just rode an Icelandic horse through rivers and mountains! :)

The horses are absolutely beautiful with an amazing temperament. The guides made us feel totally at ease even though it was our first time riding and the views were absolutely stunning. An absolute must do for any visitors to Iceland!

Great day at the Farm.
It started all with Pick up in Reykjavik which was on time and we were picked up my a nice man who I already had a talk about the horses and the farm on the way there.
Once we got there we were greeted very nicely and got fitted with helmets and had the chance to put on warm clothes and boots.
We then went out to the horses and the right horse was picked. I got a very nice horse, he was great to ride and an amazing horse for an experienced rider.
On the way we got to ride a lot of tölt and had a nice stop on the way.
The only thing which would have been better is to have a round trip instead of going the same way there and back.
But everything else was great
Thanks for the amazing morning.

We had an AMAZING experience at Laxnes Horse Farm! The staff was friendly and the horses were gentle and well-trained. It was our first time horseback riding, and we felt very safe and comfortable. The landscape was breathtaking and it was wonderful to experience these views while horseback riding. We would highly recommend this tour with Laxnes Horse Farm.

The guides were friendly and helpful, they provided coffee and warm weather gear to everyone and made sure that we were paired up with horses that suited us. I got the "bad boy" who was very well behaved and stole my heart. I spools recommend this to anyone, it's worth every penny.

Could not recommend this highly enough. Door to door pick-up, wonderful people, beautiful horses. The ride itself was perfect, like being inside an advent calendar. So quiet, just the babbling brooksand the occasional 'harrumph!' from the horses. Invigorating and calming all at once. After the ride we were offered coffee and (delicious!) pastries, given a tour of the photo wall of fame, wonderful few hours and worth every Krona.
