I came here around noon for lunch after visiting the Castle. There are shops, restaurants, stores, Gamimg Places, etc It was crowded with people, mostly enjoying the local Osaka street foods.

Also noted in this area are underground shopping areas leading to the various gates or entrances to the Metro and Train Lines. It is nice to shop here or just looking around because of the air conditioners.

Outside: Better to visit in the pm when the neon lights are on, no heat from the sun, more people shopping and eating, more restaurants are open, people simply having fun!

What a place , you could spend your whole evening here, with so many restaurants and the bright lights , it’s a happening place for night life.
If you in Osaka, you gotta to visit this place.
The ferris wheel stops at 7.30 , you only find out when you have climbed all those stairs.

The heart of Osaka. Very lively place with something for everybody. Shopping, food, bars - you can have whatever you like. One hidden gem in the area is the Hozenji Yokocho street with traditional small restaurants. Dont forget to stop at the unique moss covered statue of Fudo Mio-O in the Hozen Ji temple at the beginning of the street.

Minami... is a general term that refers to the bustling downtown areas of Namba, Shinsaibashi, and Dotonbori Sennichimae in the Chuo district of Osaka. The name Minami has a special meaning for Osakans.
It's a must-visit tourist destination when you come to Osaka!

Definitely worth a visit at night with the neon colourful lights. Plenty of people everywhere creates a great atmosphere. So many places to eat ranging across all budgets. Shops galore. Great for people watching. Enjoyed our stroll through and the quick style meal that we settled for. Easy to get to via subway or train.

This is one of those reviews that regardless how good or bad it is, people will go anyway. In fact, if your staying for a few days, you’ll probably go several times. But anyway as usual very crowded but lots to eat and shop.

This area is the heart of the tourist area of Osaka, and is full of shops, restaurants, and even some temples & shrines.
I would suggest walking around in a big loop, starting from Namba station and walking (north) up the Shinsaibashi shopping street. Don't forget to stop at Dotombori and take your picture posing with the famous Glico Man neon signboard! (And also the famous giant crab above the Kani-doraku shop.) Feel free to zig-zag around the side streets as you go.

When you get to the big Daimaru Department Store near Shinsaibashi station (about 10-15 min. walk without stopping), go down into the B1 basement floor and check out all the food on sale for a cool culinary experience (with free samples!). {Or you can also do this at Takashimaya Dept. Store in the same building as Nankai Namba Station.}

Then cross Midosuji Boulevard and head east into the area around Triangle Park called America-mura, which is full of trendy street fashion shops, and snack cafes. If you prefer designer shops, stroll down Midosuji blvd.

From Ame-mura, wander back (south) toward Namba station, either down Midosuji blvd. or around the side streets.
When you get to the Namba Hips building, turn left and head east along the busy Sennichimae street, until the Bic Camera big electronics store, and walk down the shopping street behind Bic Camera.
Follow that shopping street all the way down to the end, and you will be just behind Namba station. From there you can go a little more south (and to the left) into the famous Den Den Town, full of computer shops, manga & anime stores, and maid cafes. Or else head right into Namba Parks and Namba City for a more modern shopping mall experience.

Such a stroll around Minami would take an hour or two at least, and longer depending on how much you stop for shopping & eating.
Speaking of eating, be sure to try some of Osaka's local food called "tako-yaki", which is the fried balls of dough with octopus inside, sold at food stalls all around the area.

I loved exploring Namba! There is something for everyone! Shopping, food, arcades, karaoke, clubs. Just not enough time to explore. We had dinner at a crab restaurant which i recommend, you can't miss it, it has a massive moving crab on the building!
