I was staying here as one of the transit area. I was not exploring that much when arriving here, however I realised this is your typical nightlife area.
There are many convenient stores and comfort foods with alleys entering bars and clubs nearby.
Location wise is around 20 minutes from the Nagoya station, however the hotel are much cheaper compared to the other area.
Other than that, there is not much you can explore.

Sakake is basically Nagoyas downtown area. It's what Shinjuku is for Tokyo or Namba is for Osaka.
The are is bustling with department stores, restaurant and other sights like the tv tower, Oasis 21 mall and Sakae Sunshine mall. Its also a great access point to the rest of the city.

Stayed in Sake for 5 Nights and is the area to visit for food the choice was mind blowing it was a decision of where to eat not what to eat as all restaurants were clean and looked inviting - as a European you some times have to just go into the restaurant and ask for menu as some of the least expected places have translated menus to help and all the staff we interacted with just wanted to help and make sure we enjoyed ourselves would recommend the area to stay in

Just like Singapore’s Orchard Road, it’s a shopping haven. But, I suggest to go in the evening to enjoy the lightings! Donki Mega Store and Adidas Core Store are located in this shopping district with many others like LV Men Concept Shop, Gucci, Loft Mega Store, etc. Alight at Sakae Station and explore Oasis21 before shopping at Sakae. Also, take a picture of Sakae’s old landmark (built 1954) - the Nagoya TV Tower when you exit the station at Oasis21.

The basement of the department stores are food heavens! Every conceivable Japanese food can be purchased there. Go at around 630pm to 7pm as food is discounted by 10-20%!!!!
Went to Super Bazaar ( a clothes store) in the same building where UniQlo is. WOW! great bargains!!!! Must go for shopping!

Lots of famous Japanese department stores and restaurants. Bear in mind that most of the companies close at 8 p.m. except dispensaries, pharmacies and restaurants.

Sakae is a busy downtown shopping area and is worth a walk around at the least. There's plenty of high-end shopping if that's what you're looking for (Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Apple, etc.), but also plenty of average-cost shops like Uniqlo. This is also the stop for the city's Central Park and Nagoya TV Tower. One of my favorite parts of Sakae is Oasys 21, a 4-5 story outdoor shopping mall with lots of places to eat (my favorite conveyor belt sushi place was located here). Sakae is a busy stop on the subway system, and it won't hurt to get off and take a look around.

Hi anyone knows if there’s a games arcade or shopping mall that has a Pokemon Tretta machine? Thank u.

Hi
If you are looking for anime toys or arcade, the BIC camera Nagoya Station west store has some. Next to the store, is an underground arcade. The arcade is sandwich between BIC camera and a pharmacy.
BIC camera Nagoya Station West store is opposite Nagoya station, away from Takashimaya side of the station. Hope this helps.
You can google for BIC camera store.

how to get there from Nagoya kaneko hotel
Written October 28, 2017
You hotel us on the Nissaki-Dori. Opposite is a park. Exit the hotel, turn right walk away from Narita station, towards the Nagoya tv tower, you’ll see it as you get closer. It’s a 15 minute walk. Watch out for the blue coloured oval structure on top of a tall building. Sakae has a twin boulevard with a park in the middle. Cross it and you’ve walked too far.

Please tell me how to get to Sakae from Nagoya cruise terminal. Thank you.

From Nagoya port you can simply take the Meiko/Meijo Line subway and it brings you straight to Sakae station.
The subway station at the port is Nagoyako station where you catch purple Maiko line train, stay on it and it will turn into the "Meijo" line and goes to Sakae station, usually where everyone gets off.

You are correct. The Meijo/Meiko Line Subway Line will take you to to Nagoyako Station and a short walk to the cruise terminal. If you planned on visiting the aquarium, try going early as it can gets crowded. Admission closes an hour before 5pm/5.30pm on days. Or take a peek into the Fuji icebreaker if you have not been inside a ship although entry price is pretty x otherwise, enjoy the sunset. We felt that this place is more for kids.
