I wanted to see the tower during my visit to Tokyo but didn't book a ticket in advance and found out when I went there that I could buy tickets on site but it was crazy busy so you would have to wait 4-5 hours for a time slot to go up the tower. I decided to skip the experience but still enjoyed my time taking pictures in and around the area of the world's tallest tower. I spent around an hour in the area but would have probably spent around 2 hours if I did the full experience. I enjoyed the view of the tower during the day and at night. If you book online tickets start at 2100 yen/person and you save between 300-400 yen per ticket if you book in advance. The base ticket gets you up to the 350 m observation deck but they also have an observation deck at 450 m. For comparison, the highest viewing platform at the Tokyo Tower is 250m and costs ~3000 yen. If you want to do the Tokyo Skytree I would highly recommend you look into booking online three months in advance so you can get a preferred timeslot. There are some very popular cafes at the mall underneath like the Kirby Cafe that regularly sell out of time slots three months in advance as well. The mall below is very busy and has some very popular stores. The mall beneath the Skytree had a viewing area for the tower and I also got some good pictures from the Asahi Beer Headquarters and the Asakusa area. Tokyo Skytree Station is the closest for metro.

Being so high up is absolutely thrilling and something I'd highly recommend everyone sees. Sadly, even off-peak, the place is insanely overcrowded in all directions, made worse by certain sections being roped off as photoshoot locations for anyone willing to pay £30+ per shot. When the only exit is a lift with a 20-minute queue, it can feel very claustrophobic, like you're trapped. Personally I think they should more strictly limit how many people can enter per hour.

If you are looking for a great 360-degree view of Yokohama, then head to the Tokyo Skytree. When it was built, it was the tallest building in the world and remains the tallest building in Japan. The tower has an observatory, restaurant, fantastic city views, and a shopping center. The structure stands at 2,080 feet and was built as the primary television and radio broadcast for this region of Japan. The tower’s name was chosen by a public vote. It was engineered to withstand earthquakes. The Tembo Deck is located at 1148+ feet while the Tembo Galleria is at 1476+ feet are the two observation decks. Elevators can transport passengers to the Tembo Deck in about 50 seconds. There are four elevators, each able to hold 40 passengers. Well worth visiting for the fantastic views (on a clear day).

It is an impressive and imposing tower, but to spend over 6,000 yens for 3 people to go up, not even to the highest level, I am not sure if it is worth it. The view is alright on a hot and humid day with a layer of haze covering the city. I saw the Tokyo Tower, and even Mt. Fuji, but not a clear view. Maybe it is worth it if it's a clear fall or spring day. Alternatively, I find the Skytree Town quite interesting. Lots of fun stores and food outlets to spend some time there. So maybe you want to consider spending the money at the Skytree Town rather than for the elevator to go up, especially if the weather is not fully cooperating?

We scheduled a 9am visit to the Tokyo Skytree. It was very crowded when we arrived because it opened at 9am. However, the lines moved very quickly. There was almost no waiting. We went to the 350th floor first and then had also bought the ticket for the Tembo Galleria so we went up to the 445TH floor. From there you walk though a tube with amazing views up to the 450th floor! I suggest going later on in your trip so you have an idea of what you are looking at when you look out into Tokyo. It was neat to see the places we had been. I definitely recommend this experience. Feel free to message if you have any questions. You can also follow us on #the_campfire_chronicles.

Took (expensive) ticket for both 240 meter and higher decks. While going to higher deck is an experience in itself, I feel the lower one was better to observe around and visualize the beauty of expansive Tokyo city. Couldn't get view of Mt Fuji due to overcast. It's quite a happening and busy place, very well crowd managed by the staff. View in evening lights was spectacular. Post visit, you can have a quick bite in the restaurants in lower floors.

The Tembo Deck is high enough and the view is outstanding, but I would like you to go to the Tembo Galleria if possible. It's very fun to go around and see the Ryogoku Kokugikan at your feet, the Shinjuku buildings, Haneda Airport, and if you're lucky, Mt. Fuji. It makes you realize what a big city Tokyo is. Another fun thing is the glass floor. You can see the ground directly below. Standing on the glass makes your legs shake. The admission fee is high, and a same-day ticket on a holiday costs 3,400 yen for adults. I was a little hesitant, but I'm glad I went. It seems that there are advance tickets, so if you've already decided to go, it's a good idea to make good use of them. The entrance was difficult to find, so I ended up walking around the whole area until I found the entrance. There were guides here and there, but they didn't provide much support.

Great views but so crowded. We went at 4.30pm and the setting sun was spectacular but it was difficult to find a space by the window to see. It fell like a packed metro train. We bought a combo ticket for 350m and 450m - both great views with lovely artwork but difficult to enjoy as you shuffle along with the crowd

The Tokyo Skytree is an iconic landmark that offers breathtaking views of Tokyo from its observation decks. Standing at 634 meters, it’s the tallest structure in Japan and the second tallest in the world. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views from its two main observation decks, which are at 350 and 450 meters above ground. The design of the Skytree blends modern architecture with traditional Japanese aesthetics, making it a striking feature of the Tokyo skyline. In addition to the views, the Skytree complex includes shopping, dining, and entertainment options, making it a well-rounded destination. The experience is often enhanced by clear weather, which allows for expansive views of Mount Fuji and other distant landmarks. However, it's worth noting that the observation decks can get crowded, particularly during peak tourist seasons. Overall, the Tokyo Skytree is a must-visit for anyone interested in modern architecture and stunning cityscapes.

We came here on a day when only 2 elevators were working, and due to that, we ended up queuing around an hour to get on the elevator, the views at any of the floors in the building though were amazing. When we decided to go to the elevators to go down, it ended up taking longer than the hour it took to come up. The queue was around 2 hours, if you could even call it a queue. There was around 100+ people everywhere, not knowing where to queue as half of the queue was going to the glass floor, but were in the wrong queue due to the lack of guidance and signs. There was only a couple of staff “helping” out. We ended up missing our dinner plans due to this. The shopping centre below has many shops and good restaurants, and areas with brilliant views of the Skytree. I would recommend visiting the Tokyo Tower instead, due to the lack of queuing, small price and still having an amazing view.

I’m writing this review in hopes that the management read it. This year I went for my 3rd time to Tokyo Skytree. It was terribly overcrowded. For a place that sells ticketed entry, they need to at least halve the amount of people in there at one time, even two third of the people would be more pleasant. You have to line up to see out the windows and then line up for 20minutes or more to go up each elevator and then line up to come downs. You get literally crammed into the elevators. I run a school trip every 2 years and will now take it off the itinerary, as much as I love the building, everyone hated it this time because of the severe over crowding. I would definitely look for other places to enjoy the view.

I've always wanted to go there. The combined admission fee for the observation deck and the observation gallery was 3,100 yen. The weather was good, and we could see Mt. Fuji, Tokyo Tower, and other sights beautifully. I went there at 10:00 on a weekday, but there were so many people that the 10:00 admission was closed immediately after me. There is a commercial facility at the foot of the building, which is also enjoyable.

The place is literally a tourist trap and when I say “trap” I mean you’ll be lining up the whole way through, and would just feel trapped inside with how slow those lines move.

My partner and I tend to book our tickets in advance for most of the attractions we go to in case it ever gets sold out, but apparently there’s no need to for Tokyo Skytree as they will continue dispensing tickets for as long as there are people in line. This is despite the fact that the tower is already full of so many people.

To get the Skytree, we were asked to fall in line for the elevator which takes around 15-20 minutes. By the time we got up, there was barely any space for us to actually enjoy the view. What’s worse is we bought the ticket that allowed us to go a few floors higher, which we also needed to line up for. Again, by the time we reached the very top, we were already so exhausted.

The line for the elevators is even worse, because you just want to finish the whole thing. Worst money I ever spent in Japan. The Shibuya SKY deck is so much better—cheaper AND there’s crowd control.

An experience to have in Tokyo, I climbed up to 350 meters, the show is truly wonderful especially in the evening. On the first floor there are numerous restaurants, it is necessary to book for the panoramic one. The elevator is very fast and does not bother you.

There are two types of tickets: a set ticket for the observation gallery (450m) and the observation deck (350m), and a ticket for just the observation deck. Because it was a public holiday and it was crowded, I arrived at the site at 3:30 in the afternoon, but they were only selling same-day tickets for 6:30 in the evening, three hours later. There was a long line in front of the elevator and I had to wait about 30 minutes, but the 360-degree panoramic view from the observation deck was amazing and a spectacular sight. I recommend that you visit with plenty of time to spare, as it will be crowded. There is a shopping mall adjacent to the tower where you can enjoy shopping and dining.

I am writing this review as I wait in line for the elevator to the ground floor. I’ve been queueing for the past 2 hours, as have the other ~700 people tightly packed around me. It truly is the biggest tourist trap I’ve ever been to.

At Tokyo Skytree you will get to experience a wide range of queues. First there is the ticket queue. As I had purchased mine in advance on the web, I only had to wait 30 minutes in line to trade my web ticket for a physical one.

After you get a hold of the ticket itself, you can move on to the second course: the elevator line. There, you’ll come to appreciate the previous queue for its reasonably open spaces. The cramped corridors make it so you’ll get to intimately know your surrounding neighbors (as they’ll get to know you).

The fact there are 4 elevators helps speed things up a bit, and there is a momentary happiness when you finally arrive at the tower deck. But it lasts far too little. The mass of people is too much for the air conditioning to handle, so now you’re in a cramped AND stuffy room.

And because everything that goes up must come down, thus begins the slow shuffle towards the exit elevator.

This final 1 hour queue will take you on a 360 trip around the deck, where the full view of Tokyo taunts you with all the cool places you could be enjoying. But instead you are here, stuck in a mass of people with no end in sight.

I could almost kiss the ground when we finally arrived Bottom line: avoid at all cost. Go explore Nakamise-Dori street instead.

This tower is part of a large commercial network, whose main attraction is its viewpoint. However, I cannot give an informed opinion because it was pouring rain the day I visited and, given the warnings of poor visibility, I decided not to invest in the entrance fee because I considered that it would not be worth it. Therefore, my score is totally neutral, neither good nor bad. As a positive point, they warn you from below that visibility is reduced and from there you decide whether to risk paying or not, I think it is worthy of praise.

I wish I had read the earlier reviews first before deciding to go to this place. You'd spend 90% time in line rather than having good experience and enjoying aerial views of the magnificent city i.e. Tokyo. My advice - don't bother.

An amazing work of architecture and beauty that is a must see tourist attraction. We did not buy the admission to the top, but was allowed up to a restaurant area on the 30th level, where the views were awesome. Tons of restaurants, unique stores, fast casual eateries surround and are inside this attraction. Easy to spend several hours checking it out. It is convenient to a subway stop.

What a iconic landmark of Tokyo .
First of I must say I have not been up in the tower , only seen it from outside and of course the best view for a photo is at a distance.
During our time in Tokyo over the last week or so we have viewed it many times from different locations .
When out walking it can be used as a focal point to where you are .
A great construction.
