Compared to other parks, this was average for us. No entrance fees. There were not much any places to rest other than the Starbucks and another cafe nearby. Since hanami was not allowed, you can't sit along the walkway through the cherryblossoms. So you have to continuously walk - we did stumble upon some beautiful shrines along the way and of course, there's Ueno Zoo. If you're planning to eat here, better buy some at the Ueno station before walking through the park.

A great park to people watch and visit a few historic sites. It is also not far from the metro station.

Ueno Park has so much to explore with easy access from the train! Temples, shrines, museums, ponds, fountains, the Zoo, and in mid-January the Peony Festival! There are ancient historical sites and an amazing bronze whale. All in all, in was a lovely four hours spent outdoors. I would have stayed longer to explore the National Museum of Nature and Science, The Tokyo National Museum with archeological artifacts, along with the other 4 museums within the park. Unfortunately, on the Tuesday I was there, all museums and the Zoo were closed. I was among many visitors including locals who were puzzled by the Tuesday closure. Still, it was a great adventure and I can't wait to return. Before heading out I will be digging further to make sure the museums will be open.

A clean and attractive park to walk through. We were too early for the cherry blossom or much of spring but it was busy, with nice little stalls to view and nice walkways.

This is a beautiful park, which apparently was going to be the site for a hospital. Very relaxing and nice to see the start of the cherry blossom, although due to the current climate, blossom parties have been banned. Shame, but worth a stroll anytime.
