Neighborhood: Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.

If you’re an American visiting beware that one of the games has you dodging an actor in a military suit with a gun. You have to stay out of sight of they’ll shoot you. At one point you have to hide in lockers while they walk by with their gun pointed. It’s absolutely terrifying if you consider how used to school shootings Americans are. I couldn’t finish the game. Place is otherwise disorganized and they nickle and dime you for everything.

Thank you very much for having visited us here at Tokyo Mystery Circus. We are sorry that your experience became a terrifying one, and that you could not finish the game. Guns are not a familiar item in Japan, only seen in video games, and that led us to lack hospitality in a world wide basis. When different games begin, we will be more careful about the descriptions we will put on our homepage. We also have multiple other games that have no violent expressions, so we hope you will visit us again for a different game. Thank you.

I was really impressed by the graphics, the design of the game, the story line, as well as the promptness of the staff members! It was a really engaging experience and one can easily spend up to hours being immersed in the myriad of game sessions available.

Tokyo Mystery Circus exceeded my expectations! Initially, I was concerned if I would be able to enjoy the escape room experience (language barrier etc) but this place was accommodative of foreigners. I played the Spellbound Supper game, with full English support (audio and a dedicated employee of TMC to assist my group). Would highly recommend choosing this option for a mind-blowing 100 minute adventure (explanation plus game time plus review)

Thank you for having visited us here at Tokyo Mystery Circus. We're very happy to hear that we managed to exceed your expectations! We may only have a few games that you can play in English, but we keep changing game every now and then, so come back any time for a new experience. The Spellbound Supper has now ended, but we have new game called "The Magic Library's Bizarre Encyclopedia". This game also has English support, so we are sure you'll enjoy the experience. Come back anytime for another "mind-blowing adventure"! Thank you for the review! We'll be waiting for your next visit!

I've played Escape Games in Singapore, Thailand and Australia for more than 30 times, and this experience still stands out as one of the best. This place is opened only since Dec 2017. Kudos to the team to translate some of their games into English so that we tourists can play. There are 3 activities with 3 different 10 min, 30 min and 90 min, we played the 90mins game at ¥3500 per person and it is really worth every penny. There are only 2 time slots 5.30pm and 8pm. Our host for the game, Sakyo is just awesome and knows exactly when to give clues without spoiling the game for us. Going into any detail will be a spoiler...its just full of surprises. Much better than the VR centre beside it. Strongly recommend this activity if you are in Shinjuku

Thank you once again for having chosen to spend some time of your visit with us at Tokyo Mystery Circus, and we will be happy to welcome you again on your next visit to Japan. A friend and I played one of the mailbox games here in Japanese. You get an envelope with clues and solve puzzles placed on hints hidden throughout the building to lead you to mailboxes with combinations that you have to figure out, with clues to the next box inside. It's particularly challenging because there are many mailbox games happening at once with different clues, so you can't assume that every suspicious looking prop actually has something to do with your game; it could be a clue for something else entirely! The puzzles were really quite challenging but doable, and we had a lot of fun! Some of the games are also available in English, but I haven't tried those so I can't speak for their quality. In general though, I think SCRAP puts on some awesome games.

Thank you for visiting Tokyo Mystery Circus. I am delighted to enjoy the Mystery Mail BOX GLOBAL EDITION. As you unravel the mystery in the envelope, you may have enjoyed various experiences and inspirations. "Escape from the prison" is a real escape game that you can enjoy in 10 minutes time limit. Unlike the Mystery Mail Box, there is a time limit, so it is a game where you can enjoy solving puzzles in a more thrilling situation. And, you can also enjoy "A Mystery Magic Academy at SHINJUKU". It is the game go out to town of Kabukicho to solving puzzles. Both of them can play in English and you may enjoy them, so please try if you like. We look forward to see you again.

I’ve been in Japan now for over a week and this by far has been my worst experience. I showed up with a group of friends and we had two separate tickets, one for a group of four and one for a group of one (me). They had a lot of confusion with that scenario to the point where I had to be in a separate time slot for the event from my friends. I let that go and figured I’d still have a good time and wanted to grab a beer before my time which was 15 mins later. Then they tried to kick me out saying it was against the rules to be drunk there and kept pointing to a sheet of rules I had that didn’t say anything about drinking, not to mention the fact that one beer isn’t going to get me drunk. After that was sorted out I finally went upstairs to wait for my game and after 20 minutes nothing happened. At that point I decided it was time just go. I recommend this place only if you like going to the DMV or the post office mid day. Even my friends that experienced it said it was a nightmare. You’ll have a more enjoyable experience trying out the bidet at your hotel.

Thank you having visited us here at Tokyo Mystery Circus. We're very sorry that your experience was that unpleasant. The Real Stealth Game is a game in which you have to move around very much inside the room, and there are other participants in the room as well, and that is why we ask all participants to not consume alcohol before the game for safety purposes. We're sorry that we could not get the information to you properly, and that you had to wait more than we asked you to. We'll try to make the system better to lessen the unpleasantness. Thank you again for your review, and we apologize for the inconvenience.

A theme park that is really out of the world! I never knew that a table-top game could bring so much excitement. The projection mapping brought in the engaging element into group games, and I really enjoyed cooperating with my friends to clear the collective goal. English-speakers will have no problems. Definitely worth visiting again!

Thank you for visiting Tokyo Mystery Circus. Thank you for joining Spellbound Supper. Did you enjoy the experience of using magic? Teamwork is a very important game, so it would be great if you could enjoy it with your friends. Currently, The Magic Library ’s Bizarre Encyclopedia is being held as the second project of the Projection table game. Please come and see us again. We'll be expecting you!

Was initially worried about whether a high level of proficiency of Japanese would be required to solve the puzzles, but the staff prepared a version of the game entirely conducted in English, which definitely exceeded my expectations. The puzzles were engaging, instructions were clear, and the service was great. Enjoyable even without prior experience, or even if you are not exceptionally interested in escape room games.

We did the escape room and the spy game and we had a lot of fun. You have to move around a lot for the spy game so you will be getting sweaty but still very fun.

Abit costly for it, the lock in the room wasn’t functioning properly but they didn’t extend the time. Unfortunate experience
