Caveat: I’m a Londoner so well used to crowds and tourists. Takeshita street is utterly rammed with people, no doubt about it, but that’s part of the fun. However if you don’t like crowds, it’s probably not for you. It’s full of kawaii stores selling...More

After Meiji shrine you can take a walk through the crazy Takeshita street. Tons of shops and restaurants with all kind of stuff. Try the cheesedogs or the super long fries! You’ll find definitely something to eat or buy!

This is a cute narrow shopping street. Lots of shops and restaurants. We went to the Daiso store which is a 100 yen store. Four floors of stuff to purchase for a small amount of yen. We like to go into dollar stores around the...More

Apparently not what it used to. Now it is just a sea of people slowly moving down the street. But there are some really quirky shops to dart into that sell stuff I hadn’t seen elsewhere in Tokyo. And the crepes are to die for....More

Definitely must be the busiest street in the world. A sea of unending humanity just keeps flooding the street. Interesting street shopping cheaper than the huge showrooms on the high streets.

The reason for the low score is that this was the only place we really came face to face with some shady looking characters, they weren’t japanese and had the feel of the types of characters you might see in a souq. Just a feeling....More

Crowdest street in Tokyo for me. Personally I didn't find this street anything special. There are Korea cosmetic shops, souvenirs shops, crepes stalls etc. The shops are catered for youngsters. I think the malls in Harajuku near this street are more interesting for shopping. If...More

A crowded and totally ctazy street with Japans weirdest stuff. Going fril cat & owl cafés, ice cream in crazy forms to dress up stores. Let yourself go and enjoy a million impressions.

This is a famous shopping street in Tokyo. Be sure to enter it from the Yoyogi Park end - The entrance is close to Harajuku station. It's a busy street of 'edgy' clothes shops, so is a great place to see the more fashion conscious...More

What a waste of time! To come from the peacefulness of Yoyogi Park to Takeshita Street is a shock to the senses. The last time we came here (10 years ago) it was full of fun teenagers dressed up in crazy clothes; this time...a Sunday,...More

There are countless opportunities to shop in the
Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops
that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest
areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's
Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to
recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh
yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast,
Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool.

Walk down Takeshita dori, find Alta Harajuku almost at the end of the road and go to the basement. There next to all the Prikua machines, there's a shop that'll make a 3D figure that looks just like you!
