Neighborhood: Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.

You know you are in Japan when one of the central Landmark buildings of a city has 2.5 floors completely dedicated to an anime. The amount of passion for one piece here is palpable. Places like this are the reason I love Tokyo so much. If you are a One piece fan of any age, this will be one of the highlights of your trip.

The tower was unfortunately closed due to the Coronavirus but the ground floor, where the shop and Sanji's restaurant are, was open.

So much awesome merchandise!!! They had some insane figures of Zoro, Luffy and Boa, I wish I had the money to buy them cause they were CRAZY!!!!

I definitely recommend a visit if you are a fan but I think you are gonna be good with just the ground floor without going to the park.

There are characters statues everywhere around the city anyway!

If you are a One Piece fan, the place is a must.

Funny activities related to each character of the crew, original draws of the manga, details taken care, nice staff... the only bad things are that the live show is not in english (fun to see though) and that the Sanji's Restaurant food is terrible and expensive (free buffet) but quite an experience.

Will go again but not to the restaurant.

As a big fan of One Piece,I am totally disappointed of this theme park.I visited the theme park on 27 Sep 17 afternoon. The staff at the entrance is so rude that ruined my whole day mood.

While I was queing to exchange the ticket, a Japanese guy approached me with a stinky face and said"PASSPORT, PLEASE". After I took out my passport he came to me again. He raised his voice and said"TWO PASSPORTS!".I was shocked by his attitude and this is not the end.My friend was not in the queue with me.She was waiting for me at the entrance to take photos.Suddenly this arrogant guy walked to my friend and said "COME IN PLEASE" in a very annoying tone.My friend tried to explain to him but he just ignored my friend and raised his voice again saying "COME IN PLEASE".Compared with the 5 star customer service in Disneysea where I went one day before, this is totally unacceptable! He shouldn't work in a tourist attraction if he has discrimination or attitude problem.

Beside this unpleasant experience, the staff at Zorro's activity were also very impatient.

The games in the theme park are not well designed,it is too simple and too short.People even have to pay for the Franky's game.

The merchandise at the shops are way too expensive.Even more expensive than Disneysea.I didn't go to Sanji Restaurant as the menu seems to be normal western food without any special design of the meal.Totally not worth the price.

I have been a loyal One Piece fan for 14 yrs.But sorry, this is not the theme park that I will ever go again.

My husband and I went on Thursday, there is no line anywhere, we get to sample all of the attractions within less than one hour. While the premise is good, I dont't think this park is doing well at all. Most of the visitors are foreigners and the place doesn't really cater to english-speaking visitors. Staffs are friendly and helpful except for the guy who frowned the moment I informed him that we didn't speak Japanese (in front of the Luffy's Endless Adventure). If I had paid less I would have awarded this three stars but it's way overpriced. Food also sucks, it's a bread-shaped waffle, not a real waffle. Completely let down.

Even as a One Piece fan, I wouldn't recommend you to go there. The attraction are awful (Nami's one is pure luck, Brook's is not frightening, Chopper's is abysmal...)
The only "good" attractions are the live action (good special effect and actors) and Usopp shooting range.
Clearly not worth 3000¥.

I wasn't expecting so much of this place, after having visited some other fan-aimed theme parks in Japan, but Tokyo Onepiece Tower was a really pleasant surprise, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Just bear in mind that this not a theme park on the scale of Disneyland or similar, but just a big fun house with thematic attractions of One Piece. If you aren't a fan, this place is not for you.
We visited it on a Friday around around 5:00 pm and spent there around 3 hours. There were virtually no lines but there were some people around so the place didn't seem empty (most of the other visitors seemed to be couples on dates, and there were also a couple of families with children)
The entry ticket allows you to visit all attractions and enjoy the live show. Go to the last floor first and get you timed ticket for the live show (last one when we went on a Friday was at 8:00 pm). The live show is simply amazing: the actors really look like the characters! They use voices recorded from the Japanese voice actors, so if you see the anime in original version you will enjoy it even more. Everything is in Japanese, so I didn't understand a word, but the story seemed to be just a excuse for a little bit of visual action.
There is no English anywhere, so if you don't speak Japanese you won't be able to understand the recordings in some of the attractions. Some of the staff spoke a little bit of English, and those who didn't showed us written explanations of the attractions. But you don't really need to understand Japanese to enjoyed them (except the Nami's casino, so you may want to skip this one if you are short on time). The attractions were mostly just ok, but we really liked the one for Luffy. Ussop's slingshots were seriously fun and we also had a good time looking for the phoneglyphos all over the place (Robin game). On top of the attractions, there are several life size figures that offer wonderful photo opportunities. There is a Franky-sized pinball and you have to pay extra to play (500 yen) but you will get a exclusive strap of one One Piece character, so think of it a overexpensive capsule machine.
You can buy your tickets in advance in Japanican and save 200 yen. There was also a combined ticket with the Tokyo Tower that looked like very good value if you also want to go up to the observatory. The shop, Mugiwara Cafe and Sanji restaurant (don't go there, seriously bad) are located in the first floor and you don't need the entry ticket to visit them.

the fee is quite expensive for 2 or 3 attractions (the main attraction was closed the day i went, but i still paid the full ticket) , you have to pay for a lot of things (show, more "attractions"), cannot take photos everywhere... even if you're a fan i'm not sure it worth the cost... please note that the best attraction is a slingshot game.... feel screwed

The popular manga and anime series “One Piece”, created by Eiichiro Oda has entertained audiences since its first debut in “Weekly Shonen Jump” in 1997 and the hit Toei Animation anime series which began broadcasting 1999. As the manga and anime series continue on, “One Piece” continues its popularity with a new and older generations of fans with video games, toys and many other forms of merchandise.
But to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the “One Piece” anime series, the first theme park for “One Piece” opened in 2015 at Tokyo Tower and known as “Tokyo One Piece Tower”.
Open at 10:00 a.m. and closing at 10:00 p.m., one can purchase advanced tickets for 3,000 yen at 7-Eleven Stores or online. You can also purchase a ticket for adults for 3,200 yen at the Tokyo One Piece Tower third floor entrance (and 1,600 yen for children ages 4-12).
Once inside, you can partake in a variety of attractions such as “Luffy’s Endless Adventure”, “Nami’s Casino House”, “Usopp’s Road to Sogeking”, Chopper’s Thousand, Sunny Tours”, “Robin’s Finding Ponegliff”, “Franky’s Ball Run”, “Brooks Horror House”, “Zoro’s Soul of Edge”, to name a few.
One of the coolest attractions is the “One Piece Live Attraction: Welcome to Tongari Mystery Tour”. Featuring the “One Piece” characters coming to life and entertaining children and the young at heart.
The theme park features a Mugiwara Store featuring a lot of “One Piece” merchandise including badges, Christmas ornaments, toys, magnets, t-shirts, bags and a lot of snacks and candy. While the Tongari store features Tongari Island related goods.
And when you want to sit down and eat, there is Cafe Mugiwara in the Tongari section, there is also “Sanji no Oresama Restaurant” serving Sky Island Fruit Paradise Salad carpaccio-style, Luffy’s Honey Grilled Ham and Nomaho’s Dress Rosa Paella and so much more! And if you don’t want to spend that much money, there is also Franky’s Osayaki shop.
For the month of November, Tokyo One Piece Tower will be celebrating the “Zoro Birthday Event”.
On the 5th floor, a special dice shaking event will be taking place to highlight Roronoa Zoro’s birthday. Patrons will be able to leave a Kifuda message on the gates of the dojo, a special Zoro meal will be sold at Cafe Mugiwara, a special limited edition Tongari Zorro stamp will be available, and a special Roronoa Zoro badge will be available.
If you are a fan of “One Piece”, Tokyo One Piece Tower is an indoor amusement park worth visiting!

BRIEF SUMMARY:
I visited this on the third day after it opened with high hopes, being a fan of One Piece. There were amusing bits but overall it was a disappointment.
Strictly for fans of the manga, and I wouldn't recommend it if you can't understand any Japanese. As the previous reviewer has pointed out, it's more of a (large) fun house than a theme park, but don't expect signage in anything but Japanese. Hopefully they'll make it more foreigner-friendly eventually...

DETAILED COMMENTS:
There were long queues for the various attractions and it's quite a different thing to stand in an hour-long queue in an enclosed space compared to standing in an hour-long queue in the open air of, say, Disneyland. Disney has learnt from long years of experience to build their attractions with small amusements in the waiting areas (e.g. talking robots for Star Tours or appropriately cute "interior" details for the character houses). The Tokyo One Piece Tower didn't have anything of the sort. You just had to stand in line and be bored...

After glancing at the queues, my friend and I decided to do Luffy's Endless Adventure, which had the shortest queue - a waiting time of just 15 minutes. That turned out to be pretty entertaining. It was basically a recap of the characters' adventures through dioramas and such. At one point it turns into a hall of mirrors and that was pretty cool. There was also a short tunnel surrounded by spinning "flames" that was surprisingly dizzying to walk through (but that was interesting! Meant to tie up with the Impel Down arc, I think).
It ends in a screening room where you get to watch a short animated movie that recaps the last few arcs in the manga up until the present one (i.e. the Dressrosa arc, for anyone who's wondering) with appropriate blasts of air and dry ice at sections. It was as though they wanted to do something like a motion simulator ride but didn't have the budget for the expensive equipment so ended up with just blasting air and dry ice at you...
* It should be noted that:
(a) you have to sit on slightly uncomfortable "seats" that are just long cylindrical metal bars, and
(b) there are NO translations/subtitles. I was fortunate in that I know the story and understand just enough Japanese to enjoy the show.

The only other thing we did besides the Endless Adventure was the live show, which was fun but I really think you lose out if you can't understand the language. The concept behind the show was that the characters have arrived at "Tongari Island" (pointy-hat island? Well, it's located at Tokyo Tower so...) and they have to battle an enemy there. I was mostly interested in seeing how the characters could be pulled off in live-action and wasn't disappointed (except in my favourite character). The actors were decent enough in their roles - probably helped by the fact that the were just lip-synching to voiceovers recorded by the original voice actors.
I felt that the show was, however, way too geared towards little kids. I found this ironic because kids made up maybe 20% of the audience and the rest were all teenagers or adults - none of whom really wanted to participate in the hand-waving or little kiddie gestures to contribute to the show. They really should look into their visitor stats and reconsider the show structure...

There are random "pirates" walking around the park and you can take pictures with them if you like but I didn't take any. I really thought they should've dressed up as characters from the manga instead - at least minor characters. One Piece certainly has enough characters to choose from.

On the whole, the place felt like it was aimed at a very young audience so it was hard for my friend and I (we're both in our 30s now) to really find it amusing. I can handle "kid stuff" to some extent - I do love Disneyland, for instance. But Disneyland has enough for me to appreciate as an adult (e.g. the landscaping, the building designs and the details put into everything, the colours and sounds) whereas the Tokyo One Piece Tower has a loooong way to go to match that.

I think it took us probably a couple of hours to go through all that. We had to wait some time for the live show so we just killed time in the Mugiwara Cafe and the merchandise shop.

** IMPORTANT NOTES
--- You do not need an entry ticket to access the main gift shop (which is two floors below the main entrance to the Tokyo One Piece Tower) nor the Mugiwara Cafe or Sanji's Restaurant.
--- If planning to check out Sanji's Restaurant, make a reservation or go early on weekdays and hope for the best. We reeeally wanted to eat there but it was fully booked until 8pm on the day we went and we couldn't wait that long. We ended up just having a snack at the Mugiwara Cafe instead, which was not our plan and rather put us off everything else. (We also didn't know the restaurant and cafe were not *inside* the theme park itself until we actually went in. This experience also marred my visit somewhat.
--- You are allowed to exit the park and re-enter. For example, if you want to go and grab a meal and come back, just let the staff at the exit gate put a stamp on your hand and when you return they'll scan it to make sure the stamp is there and you can go right back in.
