Top ways to experience Tokyo Tower
The area
Address
Neighborhood: Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.

If you are in Tokio is a must (read first)
Its a very good attraction with a perfect view of the city. Shops are good as well. My only bad point is that to reach the high level there is only 1 lift so even though you book you time you still effectible wait approx. 30 min. However its worth visiting, maybe not paying to the highest level ( I did and the view is great but nothing else).

Tokyo Tower was a pleasant surprise.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I visited this attraction in Tokyo, Japan. I was pleasantly surprised. The cost was reasonable which I can't say for a lot of tourist attractions. The location was easy to get to by Taxi from Minato City and was very clean. We received an audio tour guide device which described the view from N, S, E, and W and spots in between. Very informative and the tour guides were excellent. I would go back on a much clearer day. We could see Mt. Fugi, but it was very hazy. The area near the tower was a good area to just walk around.

    Iconic
Cheaper option to see the Tokyo skyline compared to the sky tree, but nonetheless, as breathtaking. There are two choices for visitors, the mid level or all the way to the top. Of course the prices differ. One could have a 360 degrees view all round. The tower was build many years ago and still standing strong. Quite an iconic place to visit in my humble opinion. Tickets can be purchased at level one and there is a gift shop at level three which is selling a lot of iconic Tokyo souvenirs like Tokyo banana.

Did not want to spend the money to go up top.
There was a very long line and would have wasted a lot of time that could have been better put to use seeing the area surrounding. There was a halfway (40th-floor) tour too. If not going to the top, why go? There was nothing to see on the ground floor.

    First Visit
Always seem the tower from afar but finally made my way over to see it up close. Having already seen some of the Tokyo skyline from the metropolitan building (for free) I opted not to pay to go up. Instead I just walked around the tower and people watched. Similar in design to the Eiffel Tower the Tokyo Tower was its smaller sibling. However elevators were the only access up while I preferred the nice climb up the Eiffel for its unique vantage points. Overall just a short visit maybe about 15 minutes.

    Great Nighttime Views
Visited on a Friday evening, worth getting there to catch the sunset. The tower lights up at night making for some good photo opportunities; there is an area nearby where you can set your phone up to take some great selfies with the tower in the background. Once up the tower there is a cafe and areas where you can stand on glass flooring to take in the sheer drop below. Definitely recommend going either day or night… or both!

Iconic Tower - Picturesque and relevant as it always was
Picturesque Tokyo Tower, a symbol of the rise of modern Tokyo and as a Japanese icon to rival Paris’Eiffel Tower. Last visited by us in 1998, the Tower is as relevant as it ever was, comes with its own romance, and continues to hold its own against the more recently constructed SkyTree. Located on a hill with sweeping views of eastern Tokyo, it has touristy shops underneath - watch the video of its historic construction and how it became a timeless symbol of the city. To do: arrive my Underground, walk up the hill. Leaving the tower, Roppongi is a not difficult walk away, through the embassy/consular district.

    Not a very interesting skyline
Let me start by saying the tower itself is well maintained and quite beautiful to behold. They have restaurants, games and a shopping mall in the base. We paid extra to book tickets for the top deck in advance. I can’t say it was worth it - unfortunately the Tokyo skyline really isn’t very interesting, and because there are so many high rise buildings around, it’s not like you can see the ‘entire’ city.

The Eiffel Tower's slightly bigger cousin
You can't look at the Tokyo Tower without being reminded off the Eiffel Tower on which it's design was based. It has become an icon of the Tokyo skyline and is just as wonderful as it's more famous European cousin. We were lucky enough to stay near the tower so saw it everyday we were in Tokyo, the tower looks great day or night worth visiting with the Zojo-ji Temple.

    Nice 360 View
Went there at sunset and witnessed the surrounding changed from daylight to nighttime. The view was great, only went to the first obervation deck. It was pretty crowded but still managed to find a space to sit on the floor. The view of the tower from the bellow was nice especially with the colourful lights on.

The tower is worth visiting, but it’s not cheap. We paid 7400 Yen for a top deck tour for two adults and one high school-aged child. We rode up to the top deck from the main viewing deck, in a fancy elevator. In an ante-room, we learned about the two founders of the tower, media mogul, Hisakichi Maeda and architect, Tachū Naitō. It’s a semi-fictionalised story of them getting together to build the tower in the 1950s. Obviously, it’s based on the Eiffel Tower, which was built about 70 years before. And, yes it is fractionally taller, although the Special Observation Desk we went to is around 250m off the ground, and the Eiffel Tower’s highest deck is much higher. Anyway, this is about Tokyo Tower, not the Eiffel Tower! If you can get in at sunset, the views are stunning. You can see all of Tokyo laid out beneath you – including a view of Tokyo Skytree which is nearly twice as high and much more modern. You can even see Mount Fuji on a good day, although we didn’t. There is an audio tour telling you what you are looking at, at each compass point, but it was a bit hard to follow and you couldn’t pause it easily to get your bearings, so we gave up. It was still very enjoyable, though and we could recommend visiting.

We visited the Tokyo tower yesterday and it was amazing. The place is open for long so we went in around 9pm and avoided the rush. We only went to the main deck 150m above but you can also go into the upper deck 300m above the city. The views were fantastic and we were able to enjoy it better as the city lights come on fully in the night. The ticket were reasonable, we paid ¥1200 per person and the top deck costs ¥3000 per person. You can buy tickets at the venue without booking through 3rd parties.

On such a nice day, I had to get an aerial view of Tokyo. I went on a Sunday and while it was busy, it wasn't crowded busy. I queued for an adult ticket which cost me 1200 yen for an adult. You then are directed around to see some history and pictures of the tower before moving to the area for the elevator. There was an different line for those who paid 3000 yen for the upper deck tour. The elevator to the main deck was pretty fast so I didn't wait more than few minutes. Once up on the deck, I was able to move very freely around and take photos of Tokyo from various angles. There were bathrooms and food up on the main deck as well as a queue for the elevator to the upper deck (if you decided to pay for it). The exit was down one flight of stairs to the lower main deck. I like this deck better as it as clear walkable flooring to walk on. Some people were cautious about stepping on the glass but I was able to some them that it was safe by standing on it and walking back and forth on it. After that it was an elevator down. There are gift shops, general shopping and food down at the exit. A nice place to go for 20 mins or so and to get photos of Tokyo.

Great views of the Tokyo region and I really appreciated the well organised facilities and friendly staff. The shops were also selling items at reasonable prices (we compared to the markets we later visited). If you like the anime ‘One Piece’, you’re also in for a treat because there’re one piece experiences that are pretty cool to fans (I’m not a huge fan but know enough about it to like it!).

There are great views over the city from the tower. You have the option to go up to a viewing platform some way up, or pay extra to go right to the top. We decided to do the latter. The views are very good. We were there on a sunny day, but unfortunately were unable to see Mount Fuji as it wasn't clear enough. We still felt it was well worth doing.

If you like views then maybe this is for you. However, it is quite expensive and when you get up there there is little to see except for the view and an extortionately priced gift shop. Polite staff and clean and with the funniest pink pointed headed mascot guy who was v very enthusiastic. On balance I wouldn't bother.

Followed a combination of Google maps and Apple Maps, both provided good information on the train station. Easy transit from Yokosuka, and due to the state of emergency very empty streets. There is a selfie stand to put your phone and take a picture of the tower. It was a little rainy but the tower was still bright and a cool site to see. No going inside or riding up the tower, due to Covid but seeing it was enough for me.

This tower controls broadcast signals for tv and radio. So why go see it? It is the second tallest structure in Japan, and when you are able to ascend the views are great.
