Hakuhinkan Toy Park is a big toy store at Ginza. It was immediately places on our place to visit.
Much as many other stores in Ginza, Hakuhinkan is multi-storeyed. Each level contains everything from action figure to video games. At Hakuhinkan’s top level there is even a theater.
I would say that I enjoyed visiting this place more than I did Kiddyland at Harajuku. Simply for the fact that it has more actual toys rather than souvenirs. Well worth the visit if you are actually looking for toys.

This large toy store in Ginza is worth visiting if you have children, want to browse toys for a gift or just want to wander and kill time. It has a mix of all kinds of toys, figures, stuffed animals, cartoon merchandise and games. Note that you have to go a little ways away from the other big stores, so factor that into your walking plans.

Let me say first that toy shopping is one of the reasons i look forward to going to Japan. That said, i dont get all the glowing reviews about this place. Allow me to pass along some info for those who want to know.
Hakuhinkan is the only wholly toy store in Ginza. There are 4 floors, each with, or slightly less than, the walking space of your average 7-11. 1st floor is candy and knick nacks. 2nd is girls. 3rd boys. 4th that race track, very very limited video gaming, and some other stuff i cant remember.
1. They're expensive. Example: DX Taiko no Gashat & Kamen Rider Gemn DVD Set 3800 yen at Hakuhinkan, 3200 yen at toy stall in Asakusa, 2800 yen at Don Quijote. Expect to pay the most for whatever product youre buying.
2. Variety. They do carry a little of everything, but not a lot of any one thing. Understandable due to space constraints. They may have certain things in stock that have been sold out elsewhere; why, see above.
3. The only unique thing I saw for purchase were these Michelin (tires) shoulder bags and kids bags; sign in the shop said something about being authentic merchandise and exclusive prints or something. As somewhat of a japanese car enthusiast, i thought they were pretty cool, unfortunately i did not need a $80 slender back pack at the time, nor was i willing to spend $45 for a bag for my 4 year old.
Bottom line:
"Awesome"...no. Is it worth visiting casually? Yes.
While i love seeing smaller independent toy shops, dont be fooled by other fawning reviews into believing this is going to be the best place to find toys.
My recommendation? Visit a Toys R Us in Japan, then come here and make your own decision.

A toy shopping area with 4 levels, and a racing area section on level 4. Lift is found in the building. And usually packed with people. Things that are usually include stationery, soft toys, cartoon characters' snacks, toys for girls and boys etc. It's a recommended stop for bored kids.

If you love super unique toys and are here for a visit this is the place. 4 stories of toys to look at and play with and very much Japanese. I wound up buying enough to fill my suitcase for my daughter to play with, but honestly, I think I had more fun here shopping for her. Really unique and great place.

4 storeys of toys in downtown Ginza. Not far from the new Ginza 6 Shopping mall. Each floor has a different theme. Plush toys, Anime puzzles etc. Slot cars to play with. Restaurants up the elevator on level 6. My daughter left her iphone on the ground whilst playing and didn't realise till 30 mins later. Luckily somebody handed it in to the counter. we easily spent an hour here. I enjoyed it as much as the kids.

If you're looking for toys to give to your children, nephew / nieces, friends, etc. make this your first stop. Sure, you can get more obscure anime and manga toys at Akihabara or more GunPla models at the 7F Gundam shop at DiverCity, but if you don't have the energy or time, this is your best bet. All the Japanese brands - Pokemon, Gundam, Ultraman, race cars, stuffed toys, Ghibli merchandise, etc. are here.
Prices are quite reasonable and they offer tax-free purchases for tourists if you spend above 5400Y (which you can do easily).

My family visited here with my 2 kids, girl (10yrs old) and boy (9yrs old). They had so much fun we spent 3 hours+ in this building! There are all kinds of toys available, fr Sanrio to Lego, to race cars, to video games, make your own jap dolls (@ B1). Steps are steep but there are 2 sets of lifts conveniently located (main entrance & near toilets). Take lift to level 4 and work your way down. Eateries also conveniently located outside building and on top floors. Highly recommend for families with children up to 14 years old.

I have a child obsessed with Power Rangers and we visited all the toy store recommendations in Tokyo. This one was by far the best one. It had a huge selection mostly for kids. Ton of interesting things to buy that you wouldn't get in your home country.

I have enjoyed going to this store ever since my first visit to Japan as a child in 1983. I went there again last October and it was still as magical as I remember it. On the ground floor, there is a big selection of stationary-related items. On the 2nd floor, you'll have top selling toys items from "Planes" and Sentai series as well other toys. In the 3rd (?)floor, there is a place where kids can play with slot cars. Does anyone play with slot cars in the U.S. anymore? Unfortunately, most local mom and pop toy stores in the U.S. have long disappeared - having lost out to Toys R Us and sadly, Walmart and Target, which really don't specialize in toys. It's nice for kids to be able to go to a place that's strictly for them and as well, deal with sales staff that really know toys. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the Ginza.

How can I order merchandise from this store? I have been there in the past, and want to order some more jigsaw puzzles. I am only English-speaking. The ordering and payment sections on the website are in Japanese, even when selecting English. : ) Thanks!
