Tokyo by Night: Japanese Food Tour

This is an excellent pick for travelers interested in trying a variety of Japanese food specialties in one evening. Eliminate potential language barriers in restaurants by going on a hassle-free tour with a guide to translate and explain the dishes to you. Highlights include trying grilled meat skewers (yakitori), savory pancakes (monjayaki), sweets (wagashi), and sake.

Suzuran Street is fairly typical of the many smaller streets in Ginza with some classy shops and restaurants and some not so classy. It has sign at both ends promoting itself but that is about it but it is Ginza and it is better than many shopping streets in Greater Tokyo.

Really nothing special about this street. More or less the same as any other side street in Ginza. Walk through it only if it is on your way to somewhere else.

One would think that the Ginza area is all about big department stores and wide streets. Suzuran, though not necessarily tiny, is an interesting side street in Ginza, with lots of restaurants and curio shops. If you have time, it's worth exploring this area for a more uniquely Japanese experience.

We wandered upon this side street running parallel to Ginza. There are many artisan shops, boutiques and restaurants. It is not as busy as Ginza and are mainly small shops. If you have extra time, it is worthy to see.

This is one of a number of snmaller side streets that run paralell with Ginza Dori on the Hibiya Park Side and this one is well labelled and one street back. It is a fairly tupical street that you will find in Ginza with a myriad of shops and restaurants of varying style and quality. Worth a walk through as you will find things that you had no knowledge of.
