It was awesome drinking in a Family Guy themed bar. I can finally say I had a beer at the Drunken Clam. Everyone inside the bar was friendly, and it seemed like most of the customers knew each other. My friends and I really liked the atmosphere, good vibes all around. The whole bar lit up and sang classic songs together in both English and Japanese. Visitors don’t need to worry if they don’t understand Japanese because everyone spoke English.
I recommend stopping by, it’s next to Dontomburi and the entire area is quite lively. I’ll definitely come back with some friends.

I found the bar while walking down the street with some friends. We were all fans of the show and didn’t know what to expect but it was more than worth the climb up the stairs. Really friendly international staff, talented local karaoke singers, and cheap drinks. Overall amazing atmosphere and really good start to the night.

3 friends and I visited this place on a Monday night. There was no one else there but we stayed for a drink anyway. We were barely greeted by the 2 unbelievably rude staff upon entry. During our 1 drink, there was absolutely no interaction by any of the staff which made us feel extremely uncomfortable and almost not welcome. Please, avoid this miserable bar at all costs when in the area, there are so many other decent places to visit. Very poor service.

If you come drunk with a bunch of friends might be fun. Otherwise you are paying 700 yen for a beer to watch a group of jabronis sing karaoke

Yes, it’s English speaking, they have a French barman who is very nice but that’s where things stop.
Bar is tiny, with tired interior. There was one guy singing but that was it. Really quiet & dead atmosphere. Drinks were about ¥500 each. I wouldn’t bother & I doubt the credibility of the other positive reviews

This place got lots of good reviews, so we walked through the mazy streets of namba to find it. It turned out to be a pretty terrible dive bar, full of westerners and a complete waste of time given the awesome Japanese alternatives all around. The staff are friendly and lots of friendly expats but not the place to go to if you want to experience something authentically cool and Japanese.

Although many of our customers are Japanese, this is a Western bar in Japan. The sign is in English and Western flags throughout. We agree that there are many Japanese alternatives around, however you should have figured out it's for ex-pats and travelers who want to party in a western setting. Well at least we were friendly - lol

This place made our whole trip. We had an absolute ball singing karaoke with locals & travellers alike. Who thought an intimate little room with a group of people from all different parts of the world could create such an incredible atmosphere.
If you are going here, keep an open mind when you first walk in. It may not look like much at first but do yourself a favour & sit down at the bar, have a few drinks to loosen up, choose a song & let your hair down.
If the karaoke machine deems you to have done a good job you get a shot on the house!

I really loved coming here when I was in Osaka. The frequent guests here were awesome! The environment is great! It's right in the heart of the area! And! The owner is the most amazing guy in Osaka! Really! He's incredibly friendly and knows how to make sure that everyone is happy and having a good time. The next time I visit Osaka, I'll come here again before going anywhere else!

Was in Osaka for two weekends 3 weeks apart during my Japan trip. The drunken clam quickly ended up a favorite bar! Me and my friend came by the Drunken Clam on weekdays and during weekends. Every night is different, depending on the guests. the bar isn't that big, so you quickly end up talking to other guests, and the karaoke machine, that's free to use, opens up for lots of fun!
The staff is super friendly and I can't praise this bar enough!
If you come in and there's few guests, you should stay, cause suddenly heaps of people walk in and the place goes from 0-100 faster than a Lamborghini!
Good place to meet other foreigners and locals!
