Busy transportation hub. Plenty of signage to get you to your destination in the station. The agent that assisted me with my Shinkansen ticket purchase was efficient.

Brace yourself if it's your first time getting into the Hakata Station. This is one of the busiest stations in all of Japan and is comparable to Tokyo Station or Shibuya/Shinjuku. The east entrance exit leads to a taxi booth outside and a little park....More

A clean station in the heart of Fukuoka, with impressive restaurants and shops to match. A movie theatre in the basement. It is really easy to get lost in here. Well worth a visit, for travel or for fun!

Hakata Station is very large and offers much more than many of the European railway stations - rather it is similar to an airport. Shops and restaurants give that station over several floors its own character - it is much more than just a place...More

Great station with lots of shopping malls and restaurants located inside and around the station. You can find anything in here. The traffic is always heavy. Signage inside the station is very clear (in both Japanese and English). Easy to follow and search for direction....More

About 45 minutes by bullet train. Bullet train not expensive if you have a Rail Pass. Can get a 3 day pass for north Kyushu for only about US$80.
