2-minute walk from JR Motomachi Station. It is a shopping street, formed in 1874, where you can feel Kobe the most. If you stand right in front of "La Luce," the beautiful stained glass arch that is a gate to Motomachi 1st street, you will be able...more

I don't want to dump on this shopping arcade in particular, but it is really nothing special. The Japanese seem to have a fondness for shopping arcades, and this is probably the 6th or 7th we've seen alone on this trip. For that reason I...More

There is every type of shop one could desire, from Kimonos to Skechers, and food too. There is no reason to walk out empty handed.

Consisting of small retailers "deeply connected to their localities, providing people not only with daily necessities and services..." These Shotengais have been...More

Have a look, walk through, explore, it's huge. Worth some time. Plenty of options, next street over is China Town, Daimaru is across the road - lovely place to wander

This was close to the Station, and offered a good variety of shopping....both high end, and cheaper shopping. There was also a good variety of places to buy food, with both cafes and street food.

Kobe Motomachi shopping street is similar to Sannomayia Gai , but prices are slightly lower. This is frequented by locals doing their daily shopping and the range of shops and eating places reflects that. In some ways this makes it more interesting if you are...More

Here you can find everything you need and don't need, you desired and you didn't know you desired. Nice to shop for souvenirs but also supermarkes are placed there.

A shopping street with a variety of food, clothes and souvenirs. It is not so modern and touristy. Next to it is Nakinmachi. A nice stroll along these long shopping streets.
