It’s a small town with the famous gold and silver onsen. There are many public onsens within the ryokan. Can come for a day trip here buses from Osaka, Kobe and the airport too. Not too touristy place just nice to walk around.

You can do a day trip there. Buy a return bus ticket from Osaka or Kobe. You can also take a train there. You can enjoy the famous onsen bath.

Hi! Taiko No Yu is the 2400 yen for a day pass onsen. I went there as well and enjoyed it! Consider looking online for package deals with Taiko No Yu as well. :)

I’ve seen people do it, but you’re not supposed to and they have signs at the entry forbidding it. If it’s small enough to put a bandaid on it, then I suggest doing that.
