We had the perfect time for cherry blossoms all around Japan & the cherry tree here was just stunning. The grounds are large & very well maintained as are most temple grounds. We enjoyed our visit here..didn't get back for the lights but have heard...More
We really went here just for the night illuminations and were glad we did. After the weekend crowds at one of the other main temple attractions it was a relief to be at a beautiful temple site with only around 20 or so others. The...More

I really don't know, but I would assume you pay once and upon leaving you may get a stamp to re-enter the same day for the night illumination. Would find it unusual for the Japanese Service/friendliness if you had to buy 2 tickets.
