Located deep inside a mountain without public transport to reach so you have to hire a car or drive by yourself to go there. The Dong village contains only 192 families with population around 800 but the place is extremely original and not really commercially developed for tourism. Definitely worth a visit if you like to see something real.

The “Tai Guan Ren” festival is celebrated by the Dong people on the 7th day of the Lunar New Year in Huanggang village. A colorful parade of children in “governors” attire, carried on “sedan chairs”, marched through the streets to the beat of drums & firecrackers to usher in happiness & prosperity.

This village is in the southeast Guizhou, far away from the city. People in the village are Dong minority. Villagers there are living a simple farming life. The most special and strange thing in the village is that most of households give birth to two children, barely no two girls or two boys in one family. It said that there is a herb helping them to keep this balance.
