About
A true and authentic personalized guided tour by a local focusing on food & wine. Piemonte is no Napa Valley, and sometimes it can be useful to have a translator on hand, someone to book tastings (hard to do walk-ins here), and of course drive you around these confusing Italian roads! I hope my enthusiasm and passion for wine will make your experience even more fun. Quindi dai...Andiamo!

Anna really exceeded our expectations of a day spent in Barolo. Even though it was winter she went to the lengths of organising a visit to Paolo Manzone after I mentioned during our correspondence that I was enjoying his wine in Australia
We certainly learnt alot about the wines, the terroir and the weather and really felt like we were in the hands of an old friend . Our lunch was notable that two expert winemakers joined us to share their wine (!) and the fact that the simple cafe turned out to have a young chef cooking like he already had a Michelin star. We caught the train laden with wine and fantastic memories . Thank you Anna

My husband and I had the good fortune of booking Anna as a group tour, but due to the low season wound up having a day to ourselves. Anna was professional, warm, and communicative about what we could expect while listening to our requests. It was obvious that she has built the relationships needed to curate the most authentic and memorable experience for her guests, and that attention to detail along with her pleasant and friendly demeanor the most memorable part of our trip to Italy. Grazie, mille, Anna!

Anna’s passion and enthusiasm for the area and the incredible wine and food found here was contagious. Her connection to the land and the culture was so impressive, and it felt like we had the inside track on everything. As we drove through the countryside to the wineries, she pointed out the different towns and told us about the history, as well as sharing many interesting stories about the locals. She was a huge part of our stay in Alba as we spent two full days of our Piedmont education with her; we couldn’t have asked for a better teacher. When setting up our tours, she asked questions about our tastes and tailored the winery visits accordingly. She made sure we tasted what we liked, but also made sure that we tried new things (which led us to discovering NEW favorities!). Anna is so personable and friendly that within minutes of meeting her, it was like being with an old friend. She is a very busy lady and we feel extremely privileged that she fit us into her schedule. Alba was easily our favorite stop of our three weeks spent in Italy, and we owe those special memories to Italianna!

Had the absolute best time with Anna on our honeymoon! She organized insane tours that we couldn't have gotten into on our own. So fun having her join in on the tastings as well, left so much more knowledgeable about the Piedmont region. From start to finish, we couldn't have imagined a better day tasting wines with Anna, highly recommend!

Just home from 2 weeks in Italy. The highlight of our trip was a day in Piedmont/Piemonte with Anna Savino (Italianna / Barolo Wine Club).

Anna picked us up at the Bra train station in a van and toured us through various wine regions and shared her extensive knowledge of the area - think Barolo, Barbaresco, Roero and Alba. We discussed grapes, regions, specific vineyards, soil, producers and many other topics while in the heart of the vineyards. Piemonte wines were our favorite before the trip, but we learned so much with Anna and had a blast doing so.

Anna set up multiple winery tours and tastings where we were able to talk with the families/producers and sample their amazing wines. We tasted Barbaresco, Barolo, Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto. What an amazing experience and such great wines. Anna also took us to a great restaurant in the area for lunch al fresco. Terrific food, dessert and espresso (and a bit more wine).

Anna was very responsive before we left for Italy and made suggestions for our tour. We went with her recommendation and she handled all of the details. We were so pleased with our custom tour. All we had to do was get to the area. She also helped us with buying wine and shipping to the U.S. - our wine was on the way to our home before we left the area.

It would be hard for me to imagine anyone more excited about Piemonte wines than Anna. Her enthusiasm and energy were inspiring. Anna is the best. Anna also runs a wine club for those who want to sample more great wines after returning home. We just joined.

We highly recommend booking a tour with Anna.

We loved our day with Anna. She has so much much knowledge about Piedmont wines, and she is truly passionate about sharing it with others. She was so friendly, even early in the morning, and always more than happy to answer all of our questions and accommodate our requests. She can even help you get your wine home - by shipping or checking it with your airline. We would recommend her to anyone and will definitely go another tour with her if we find ourselves in Piedmont again!

We recently spent a few days with Anna in the Piedmont area. The entire experience was utterly fantastic! Anna is so full of knowledge. We toured each area separately, from Barbaresco, to Alba, to Serralunga. Anna has extensive knowledge of each area, various winemakers, and winemaking practices. We learned so much from Anna! Not to mention, she is incredibly kind and patient, and is happy to answer questions. For this reason, her tours/tasting are suited for beginners and those with more extensive wine experience.

We recently spent 2 outstanding days with Anna touring the Barolo and Barbaresco wine regions and loved every minute. Anna is very knowledgeable about the wines, the terroir, the food and scenic vantage points to view the vineyards and beautiful Langhe landscape. For our tour, we spent one day in Barolo and one day in Barbaresco, doing tastings at 2 wineries each day, stopping for lunches featuring regional dishes, stopping to photograph the beautiful scenery and getting acquainted with the major towns in each region.

We shared our interests with Anna several weeks prior to our trip and her itinerary and choice of wineries was thoughtful and ideal for us. The pace of the day was perfect, we wouldn’t have changed a thing. She chose a mix of organic/biodynamic growers and traditional wineries for our tour, and the opportunity to hear their observations on managing their vines and dealing with the current year’s weather and vine maladies was truly educational and enlightening. The tours at the wineries were intimate and we tasted wines directly from barrels and recently bottled vintages. We spent time with growers, the people who actually manage the vineyards, as well as winemakers, and we came away with an even greater appreciation of what it takes to produce wine in the Langhe region.

In both Barolo and Barbaresco, Anna brought us to overlooks where we could see the vineyards and towns of the entire regions stretched before us. Besides being a great photo op, it provided us with a comprehension of the size of these relatively small regions that produce these great wines. From these vantage points, Anna pointed out the major vineyard areas and the towns and landmarks for each region.

Anna’s choices for lunch were terrific. In Barolo we dined outdoors in the town of Castiglione Faletto at a restaurant with a spectacular view overlooking the vineyards. We also had an al fresco lunch in the town of Barbaresco, near the old tower that is a landmark in the town. The food was excellent at both restaurants, where we enjoyed regional dishes such as carne cruda, tajarin, and agnolotti del plin, along with local wines.

The combination of her knowledge of the wines, the region and her warm personality made Anna an absolute pleasure to tour with. We felt like we were travelling with a family member. We know very little Italian and at times people at the wineries spoke little English, so Anna was our very capable interpreter as well. She is extremely attentive and worked hard to assure that we had a great experience, we really couldn’t ask for more. Anna exceeded our expectations and we give her the highest recommendation for anyone visiting the region who wants to truly get to know and understand the wines, the food and the terroir. When we return to the area, we will definitely use Anna again to guide us and enrich our tour of this wonderful wine region.

I cannot sing higher praises of Anna! We had the BEST day. We were a group of 9 adults plus one toddler and Anna created a fantastic tour experience for us. Since this was a group of experienced wine tasters, I had asked Anna to squeeze in 3 vineyards AND we needed transportation too.

We were picked up at our hotel, had a morning stop, then a great visit with a sit down lunch at another vineyard and an afternoon stop!

All of it was provided at an excellent price. We went to three wonderful, small vineyards, met the winemakers, learned a lot about Barolo and Barbaresco. Anna many years in the region and knowledge of winemaking showed non-stop, all delivered in a super fun and interesting manner.

AND she took on babysitting duties on occasion as well, what more could you ask.

The driver for our tour bus, which was truly luxurious and comfortable was also phenomenal.

We could have not had a better day and can only highly recommend that you spend a day with Anna!

My fiance and I recently went on a long European trip, and spending around 10 days in Italy. Rather than do the typical Tuscany wine tour (we have heard it can get extremely crowded and touristy as it Tuscany is popular place for wine tours) when we visited Florence, we decided to go to the Piemonte region in Northern Italy instead. We had been exposed to Barberas, Barbarescos, and Barolos while living in NYC, and really enjoy these types of wines. If you have had these before and want to get an in depth experience, I would definitely recommend visiting the region.

I decided to go with Anna based on reviews here on Tripadvisor and they are spot on! She is awesome as a guide and a person. My fiance and I were made to feel so comfortable for the entire day we were with her, and it felt like we were hanging out with a friend rather than a typical tour guide.

We chose to stay in Torino, the big city in the region, and take a train in the morning to meet with Anna in her hometown of Fossano (less than one hour away by train which also costs less than 10 euro). After experiencing the region, if you don't need to be in a big city, I would actually recommend getting an airbnb or bed and breakfast in the countryside to fully experience what the region has to offer. We are definitely interested in returning one day and would consider going on another tour with Anna at some point in the future.

The entire time, before, during, and after our trip, Anna was responsive via email and text and able to help us out with any questions we may have had, even if unrelated to her tour. I did not even realize Anna was American and from California until we met for the first time, and it helped us relate to her even more. On the tour, she was informative about all of the areas we visited and the history and process for making Barbarescos and Barolos. During downtime, we all just chatted about ourselves and were made to feel very comfortable the entire time. We had lunch at a wonderful trattoria and visited two local wineries where we ordered a ton of wine. We were there for an entire day, around ten hours, but the time flew by and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.

In the end, Anna gave us a parting gift with little snacks as well as some reading material about the wines in the region. She accumulated all of our wines that we bought during the trip and last week shipped them out in one shipment to the New York for us. We feel like we made a friend in Italy for when we decide to visit again in the future! She adapts the tours to her guests and has contacts with so many different places that no two tours are going to be exactly the same. I would recommend her tours to anyone considering visiting the region!
