The castle overlooks the town and hits the visitor for his gothic architecture. It's front is made of bricks with little arches. Few the windows, and only at the top. The way in was guarded by a wide ditch, a rolling shutter and a drawbridge. Inside...more

After wine tasting near the town, we drove to see the castle. It is beautifully restored. It was closed, since it was vacation time in Italy. Lots of little shops with wonderful Italian food and treats.

It is a very interesting castle. The only way to see it is to visit it with a guided tour. The place is popular, so in advance reservation is required. We have been very lucky to have an excellent guide. She was extremely knowledgeable about...More

Amazing panoramic view. We had a very interesting guided tour in English about the history and architectural design of the castle. Although the tour was supposed to be in Italian the majority of the group were English speakers so our excellent guide spook both.

I would highly recommend the tour of the castle interior. If you don't speak Italian call ahead to find out when tours are offered in Engish.

It was spontanious that we went there. But we are really glad we did it. Really nice stroll. Peaceful area (maybe because of siesta time). We didn't enter the castle but it was worth of visit anyway. Beautiful hills around.

The view from the castle is worth the entrance fee alone. There are only guided tours only but we were lucky to have a private English speaking tour guide and she made it special. Her English was superb and her tour was informative with tons...More

When you enter this small town, the castle is visible and you just have to go there, in hot weather it´s a bit of a challenge, but when you get there happiness is all you feel, magnificent view is the gift.
