The road is heaviliy damaged and the repair might take 2 months or so according to the local people so currently it is not possible to go to tha glacier from Puerto Rio Tranquilo

This is an amazing natural masterpiece. I can not recommend this place highly enough. Try a 1 day tour from Rio Tranquillo if the boat from Puerto Chacabuco is a little rich for your budget. Destino Patagonia tour company will get you there with quality.

A long but a definitely worth a while trip to a marvellous breathtaking glaciar in the mouth of the laguna that offers incredible dramatic approach to a wall of colors. One of many fantastic location along the Carretera Austral.
