Zeballos Expeditions ( Cedars Inn ) ..offer nice rooms ( clean ) and a nice dinning room . If you do not bring your own kayak and you wish to kayak , then be sure to insist that they keep the single boats available for you . The kayak launch is steep , very slippery , and tidal ... a challenge ! We were told that the single kayaks would be available when we arrived ... they were not ! The doubles boat that was offered instead , is old and extremely heavy. It paddles well once in the water ... but you will kill yourself trying to get this boat into and out of the water . In addition , there was no "Staff" to help with boat preparation. This doubles boat had been sitting on the grass , without any sort of cockpit covers for a long time . Any and all openings were filled with with water ... to the max ! We had to "bail" the boat and then try to lift its extreme weight down the slope.

Trying to launch this boat , was a challenge . Getting this boat back up the slippery slope was enough to turn off even the most dedicated kayaker !
Once on the water , we had two great days of nice paddling , picture taking etc. in this boat . The launch and recovery of this doubles kayak was terrible enough to turn off any novice kayaker ....

So , I find that I do like the accommodations. I have great concerns if one is not bringing their their own boat !!

My recommendation ... use this place as a good place to start or end ( with water taxi pick-up / drop-offs ) a paddle through the outer islands . For those of you who wish to rent a kayak .. be sure it is a single ... there is much to enjoy .
Enjoy what the Cedars Inn has to offer

Dan our skipper for the tour very knowledgeable and informative, very friendly too. Found us a real selection of wildlife from Bald Eagles to Black bears and those adorable rafts of sea otters, and loads of other birds. Great trip with excellent views of so many getting close, and the there were the Humpback whales blowing and flicking their tails - magical. Nearly 5 hours out there eventually as we just kept finding things - many thanks Dan for a fabulous trip. Even the rain stopped after a while - nit that we cared a jot getting wet for the experience
