We are a local family, providing environmental and sustainable whale watching in Mirissa, Sri Lanka since 2008. We are very keen on protecting the whales and also have been doing research about them for many years now. We are very proud that we are recommended in the new Sri Lankan lonely planet and by so many users of tripadvisor. For bookings please send us an email (anytime), give us a call (between 2 pm and 8 pm) or visit our office in Mirissa Harbour (2 pm to 6 pm). Our price is 6000 LKR for adults and 3000 LKR for kids. Small kids (< 6 years) are free of charge. A refund of 50% is given if we do not see any whales on the day of your trip. Please help to protect the whales!

Excellent service : staff gave clear explanations and very hospitable. Safety and comfort of passengers' was utmost priority. Ethical: staff did not aggressively pursue Dolphins/ whales etc. Tried their best to let passengers see these creatures without disturbing them. They don't pack the boat with passengers making it uncomfortable like some of the other Operators do. They also have a... More

Carefully approach the whales according to international standards. They seem to be the only one in Mirissa to claim so. Avoid the whales which are surrended by other cheaper companies boats. Very attentive staff to all visitors needs including pictures and sea sickness. They really try their best to make you satisfied. It was a long morning from 6 am... More

Had a great, 6 hour, trip and saw 4 blue whales, dolphins, about 20 pilot whales, turtles and flying fish. The service was first class, staff giving out lots of information and helping with sightings. The y managed to serve a cooked breakfast on pretty rough water too! There are many Whale Watching tours in Mirissa but not all operate... More

The team here are great. They really care about the Whales and their welfare. They do not use any noise signals to the whales. They navigate to the areas whales live and ask fishermen etc where they were last spotted. This means that the whales are not disturbed by sending out fake whale noises. The team also ensure they approach... More

Raja and the whales cost a bit more than other operators but they are worth it for a few reasons. Most importantly they follow and promote the whale watching rules that are designed to minimise impact on whales - eg not chasing the whales, keeping a respectful distance and not blocking their route. Other boats we saw out there do... More

We had a great experience on this trip - we saw around 6 blue whales and a whale shark! We were out for around 5 hours. The guys that work here are really enthusiastic which is contagious. We also went out on a very rough day and a lot of people were sea sick - but they looked after everyone.... More

We had a great day out to see Blue Whales with Raja, we seen a total of 12 Whales on our trip. They are very careful not to disturb or hinder the Whales and give you a brief lecture about Whales on the journey out to see them. We were given breakfast on board too. On the way back I... More

We went on a whale watching tour with Raja on recommendation from TripAdvisor and weren't disappointed. Yes it was the most expensive at 6000 rupees, but totally worth the extra cost. We were collected from our accommodation at 6am and headed to the office. The sea conditions are clearly displayed before you pay, for us it was 2-3m swells rising... More

We had a fantastic day watching Bllue Whales with the Raja team. You could tell their passion and experience sets them apart from other companies. They took care of the guests with nice fruit and breakfast meals, as well as education on the whales. They found whales away from other groups and we're respectful of the distance to the whale,...
