The skippers are incredibly kind and professional. They are here for you in case you don’t feel well because of the sea at some periods of the year, and definitely do their best to find whales.

The staff seemed very knowledgable about the animals, and they were very careful to ensure they weren’t too close to the animals unlike the other boats. They spoke a lot about giving the animals space and not making them feel threatened which I think is very important with these types of trips. We were very lucky to get multiple glimpses of two or three blue whales, and a group of dolphins. As part of the trip we were picked up and dropped off at our hotel which made the whole process really easy. Life jackets were given to everyone who boarded the boat and we were told to wear them for the whole trip, I saw other boats where passengers weren’t wearing jackets which seemed careless out in the water. Water, snacks and anti sea-sickness tablets were available to everyone, which was really helpful as the water can be quite choppy. It’s a shame that not all passengers understand the directions given to stay seated, as it does block the view for others on the boat when a whale is spotted.

Unfortunately we must have picked a bad day as we didn’t see anything at all. Although the staff apologised and said we could try again the next day it was our last day so couldn’t go again. Completely appreciate it’s nature and this couldn’t be helped but ended up just being a very expensive 4 hour boat ride with very uncomfortable seats. This was a trip we were so looking forward to so was very gutted to not see anything.
