We had a great time and the owner Nilan is great- he is very friendly and helped arrange a tuktuk to collect us the morning of. We spent about 5.5 hours out in the boat. Note I don't think it was just this company, it seemed like they combined a few companies together and out us all on one boat. Wasn't a problem though. They served breakfast, water and fruits and offered sea sickness pills. We saw dolphins, some other wildlife but only two fins. Nilan offered us to go the next day as well. All in all a nice day

We rented the whole boat with the family and it was an awesome tour! We get during the trip a personal introduction in nautical, animals in the sea and a lot to laugh with the crew. They are nice people. We saw at the trip dolphins right next to the boat and whales. The crew have rulesets to don’t disturb the whales or dolphins. I had the chance to take some photos to drive the boat. Was a nice adventure! Thank you for the trip!

We saw a whale but nobody told us wich whale was it or anything about whales. I was expecting some facts or information. There is only one guy that can speak good english onboard. No coffee/tea or cool drink like it is said on the website.
It is the cheapest one though.

If you are looking to go Whale watching, look no place else. Duminda, Captain and Owner is one of the best people I have met in my life. He is courteous, friendly and very helpful.
We managed to see the Bryde's Whale as well as Dolphins. He also gave my wife the opportunity to steer the ship (and she was ecstatic about it).

Just as a background i dint know about Whale watching in Sir Lanka, this trip was completely planned by my wife. It was a pleasant surprise for me to see whale watching in her itinerary. Its been a dream to watch whales swim across the ocean. Its kind of poetic to see them majestically swim across.
Now coming back to the review of Mirissa Whale Warriors. I did a tour with them on 24th Jan 19, we had to reach the boat around 6 am, although the boat doesn’t leave till about 7 am, the best seats get taken first so its advisable to reach early and pick a seat. First impressions were the boat was nice and clean with life vest kept for all seats. The crew was very warm and inviting. They offer a nice breakfast on the boat so you don’t really need to worry about carrying a box from your hotel. The food they served was really good quality. They served some amazing sausage. Crew even offered sea sickness pills just in case anyone needed them.
Our host and captain of the boat spoke about the sea we were to visit a brief on the whales. Since they dont use technology to track the whales it does take time to spot them, different boats coordinate with each other over the phone. It took us nearly 3 hours to reach a lone whale, the experience of watching it was truly magical, our captain was quite good at following the mammal around and anticipating its next move, at a couple of occasions we had the whale right next to our boat. It left us in Awe. They crew was really sweet to take videos for us and letting us spend more time watching the whale, we were the last boat to leave the site. This will truly be one of the most wonderful experiences of my life

The captain Duminda is very enthusiastic in sharing his days as a fisherman to where he is now - a whale "spotter" (: Ask him any questions about the sea and he will be glad to answer.
There are many creatures in the sea, but besides the blue whales and dolphins that are tolerant of humans, the orcas, humpbacks etc shy away from us, so don't get too bummed out if you don't spot anything else.
We spotted at least 30+ dolphins and probably 5 blue whales. It was an exciting sight to see many pods of dolphins frolicking in the water and swimming really close to our boat!
The whole trip lasts for about 4 hours. Be prepared for a long, puke-inducing ride. On the day we went, the currents were rather strong and three quarter of the people on board actually puked. I wish they warned us ahead though.
We had about 20ish people and everyone could get a good view of the marine animals. Fruits and tea were offered and the crew took good care of the sick passengers. No comments on the breakfast provided as I had my own.
Overall, it was an enjoyable trip with many photos taken.

We really enjoyed our whale watching tour with "the Whale Warriors". We saw 5 blue whales and a lot of dolphins! What we especially like was that we were not that many people on the boat and that the boat was one of the smallest going out to the whales. This made it much more enjoyable since we saw boats with hundreds of people on it.

We left Marissa dockside at 06.30 and first whale spot was a blue whale 30 mins later. Essentially we tracked this whale and one of his friends for the next couple of hours, Si did not see the other whale types, turtles or dolphins. Nonetheless seeing the biggest animal that has lived on earth was really something special and well worth the LKR9000 pp . Whale Warriors also provided coffee and breakfast plus fresh pineapple at the end of the three hour trip.
